Drawing and Collecting All the Dog Breeds
Swap Due Date: May 25, 2017
Signup date: March 18th to include your favorite artists in the list
Withdraw date: Anytime, just let me know.
Number of Cards: 3 for 3
Number of participants: unlimited
Media: hand drawn or hand painted only
For this swap, everyone will name THREE of their favorite artists when they sign up. On March 18th, I will post the list of artists. Then you will choose THREE different artists from the list. You may do anyone's artist EXCEPT YOUR OWN.
You'll need to do some research to find examples of their work. That's part of the learning....and the fun! Participants may post links to their favorite artist's work to help out other players.
THIS IS THE FINAL LIST! You may still sign up to play, but no other artists will be added, so just choose 3 from the list above. Do not pick any of your favorites, the goal is to explore new to you artists and styles!
------------------------------------------------
PLEASE READ:
1. Select only from the list that will be posted above.
2. Do NOT select your own favorite artists. The point is to learn about artists that are unfamiliar or different from yours!
3. You may use any painting or drawing techniques or mediums(or mix them). I recommend that you try staring at the work for 2-3 minutes and then working on your piece, then stare some more. Try to train your eye to communicate with your hand (so no tracing folks).
4. You may model your card after one of the artist's works or you may attempt your own theme in that artist's style.
5. Put the artist's name on the back of your card. It is always cool if you post a reference photo to the work that inspired you when you post your cards to the thread.
Rules of the Road
- All cards should be the standard size: 2.5” x 3.5”.
- All cards should be sent in plastic sleeves.
- All cards must be original, and each card must be different. Please do not make copies, submit prints, or create three cards that are minor variations of each other.
- Show off your talents. DO YOUR BEST WORK!
- Hand drawn or Hand Painted only please...no embellishments!
