AJ, can you give us the height of the turtle body so we can make sure we have the pattern size right? By the way, your examples are gorgeous!

    SIZING:

there is a pdf for the pattern at the bottom of the post.

The yellow example is laying on top of regular ATC as an example of scale, but the shell measures approximately 3 to 3 1/4 inches long, and is just under 2 1/2 inches wide.

The shell was cut from an ATC -sized piece of paper.

    And welcome to the swap!

Oh! I didn't realize there was a swap...I guess I should have known better after seeing the appearance of many turtles in the gallery. I will lurk for now and hopefully get some made. Looks fun!
If I haven't said thank you for a kind comment, please know that they are very much appreciated.

AJ, feel free to smack my head if you've already answered this question but, while I understand the size of the shell, I do not understand the size of the flippers & head. I'm guessing the 2 large flippers are cut from the 2nd ATC size paper & the remaining 3 parts are cut from the 3rd ATC piece. This still doesn't tell me the size of each part.
Sorry if I'm being a pain but I just don't get it. SMACK! SMACK!

We have a winner! yes, you are correct LindyLu.

3 atcs= one turtle. Front flippers are apx twice the size of the rear flippers.

For those of you who were kind enough to message me about the pdf at the bottom of the first post...I got that. When I printed it out all parts are very tiny & that is why I asked the question about size.
I guess I'm not asking the right question here. So let's try this one; are the front flippers going to be the full 3.5 inch ( atc height) in length? If so, I'm pretty sure I can figure the rest of it out.

I have never made a paper doll before with joints... Do the joints have to be made so that they move? Or can they be glued down?

The joints are attached with brads so they can move.

We are "required" to use brads for this swap?
