TEACUP TWINCHIES, HandDrawn/HandPainted, Due July 5

    Due Date: July 5
    Signup/Withdrawal Date: June 29
Number of Items: 4 for 4
    Number of Players: 25
Medium: Hand-drawn, hand-painted with inks, pencils, paints, markers, etc.
NO glued-on bits or other embellishments (glitter pens or metallic pens are fine).

It's all about pretty teacups - not chunky coffee mugs (nice as they may be), but dainty and delicate teacups. This is a 4 for 4 swap (HD/HP), Please make 4 teacups (with or without saucers) and include a spoon, cookie, or napkin if you like, though not necessary. Remember, a "twinchie" is 2" square. Be careful to measure and trim accurately, just a bit off will be obvious with this small size.

Pretend you're the guest at a fancy Afternoon Tea, and show us the pretty cups you would be sipping from. Detail may be difficult in this little size, but you might consider various handle shapes, a "pedestal" foot, or use gold and silver pens on the rim, etc.

Each twinchie should be sent in a regular ATC plastic sleeve. You could tape the top closed with a small strip of LOW-TACK tape if you like (Washi or Painters). Please mark the back of each twinchie with your username and swap name.

Please PM me for my address when you are ready to mail, and I WILL PROVIDE ENVELOPES. U.S. Players, please send address label with one Forever stamp. International players, please send address label with $1 bill, or a Global Forever stamp. Pictures posted on the thread are welcome!

Yay! Now we just need one more signup and we would be able swap out. Of course I'm hoping for more than that, but we could swap out with 5, since this is a 4 for 4 swap. Any other takers? Teacups are so fun to do!

Great, Cheryl, so happy to see you here! Have you done inchies? I have done a few twinchies, but no inchies. I think that might be too tiny for me, but twinchies seem like a more "manageable" size, LOL

My teacups are done. I will mail tomorrow. I enjoyed doing these. Whilst I don't drink tea (or coffee) I do love dainty cups. I have quite a collection of victorian ones. Unfortunately a but diminished these days thanks to SuzieQ our cat who jumped on top of the cabinets to investigate them

Wow, sorry to hear about the loss of some of your collection, Ann. I've often wondered if cats might knock things over, they are so agile you don't hear about it happening often. You should take a picture of some of your prettiest ones and put in your gallery under "People, Places, and Things", I'd love to see them. Also love your set of twinchies, they are all so pretty and different from each other!

    Here are my teacups.
I have nice memories of drinking out of nice teacups with both grandmothers and lots of cousins. I really wish some of those cups survived. We were a rowdy bunch.

I understand exactly about the details! It's kind of my bugaboo (there's a technical term for you!) in my regular art, but so much more obvious in this little size. Kinda forces you to loosen up a bit.

"Flow Blue" is an actual term for antique chinaware where the blue transfer image had the edges "flow" a bit into the background, creating deep cobalt blue fuzzy edges. If you've ever seen it, you will recognize it. I thought a wet in wet watercolor technique should capture that look.
