Thanks for the update TriLov. Just wanted to point out, you did mail early, as that was the Feb 1 mail out. (see post #2) No harm done though

angelmuz/Bluesky is it worth starting a Missing Mail Search?

I know for CanadaPost, the packages are automatically insured for values up to $100, and it may take a while, but CanadaPost does pay the insured amount if the mail investigation determines it lost. Does USPS do that? It could at least compensate Bluesky for having to buy a 2nd moley?

I personally have never had USPS find the lost mail or pay out. I don't know if anyone else has had a different experience.

I've never had experience with it, but I think packages are only insured if you mail Priority or specifically ask for/ pay for insurance. Still, since it had tracking it wouldn't hurt to put in some kind of request for an update.

As far as I'm aware, USPS automatically puts a tracking number on packages, but insurrance must be purchased seperately (unless you are sending Priority). From past experience I think Angelmuz will need to contact her PO about opening an investigation to attempt to locate the package.

Here is the USPS page on add-ons:
    https://about.usps.com/postal-bullet.../kit1_011.html

Basically for less than $2 we can insure domestic packages.
