    4 Seasons Chunky Swap~due Jan 13, 2018

    4 Seasons Chunky Swap

For this swap, you will create and receive a chunky page for each season: winter, spring, summer, and autumn. Just for clarification, each chunky will be devoted to one season. This is not about holiday-themed chunkies. Please keep it seasonal.

    Swap Requirements:

    • Chunky pages should be 4 x 4 in size, securely made & sturdy. If you can bend or fold the chunky pages easily, it is too thin.

    • Chunky pages are 2-sided. The back does not need to be elaborate, but decorate it in some way (a decorative paper is fine). Also include your information on the back: name, AFA user name, swap name, title, location, etc.

    • Embellishments, fibers, and dangles are encouraged, but not required. Depending on the weight, postage cost may be more.

    • Chunky pages that are received that are not sturdy or do not follow the rules will be returned to you at your own expense. It is not fair to the other artists that follow the rules. So, please take the time to read over the requirements.

    • Please leave half an inch on the left side without embellishments for binding purposes (but don't leave it plain - decorative paper is fine).

    • Do not add holes (the artists that receives them will do that themselves).

    • If you need to withdraw, just communicate. Players who disappear will receive neutral itrader.

    Mailing:
    • Protect your chunky pages in some sort of protective plastic, and package them securely in a small bubble wrap envelope. I will re-use the envie when I send returns.

    • Please include a large label with your name and address clearly written on it.

    • Postage: Both US and international artists must pay for their own return postage; either well concealed cash or US stamps.

    US: $2-$3
    International $9-$14

I will refund any extra $$$ left over from shipping prices. This is my first chunky swap, so I'm estimating shipping costs based on others' swaps.

    • Please request my address via private message when you are ready to send your chunkies.

    • Artwork that arrives late, will be returned at your expense.

Feel free to share your artwork in the thread. It is always inspiring to see the work of others.

When you receive your returns, please leave itrader for me and rep points for the artists whom you receive work from.

    I will!
And I really hope folks will do some chunky Embellishments, as I believe that's why the Chunky was ' invented' -so that we have a larger space to work on and could put more onto it then we do on an ATC. that's why I Love Chunkies!
I use the little hard board books they sell @ Dollar Tree, 2 books in a pack, 10 pages total I think.
What do you use for a sturdy base?

Oh wow another season based one!
Would our chunkies be qualified if we complete them fully as hand painted only?

Either way sign me up please!

Lurking, not sure if I have time for this but part of my prize for winning the month contest was a set of 4 chunkies and I've been wondering what to do with them. lol

I like them for all the chunky embellishments and the dangles and fibers, too. But, I have also received some lovely "chunkies" that were HD/HP. I currently use plain coasters that I got from skybluepink.

Embellishments are not required for this swap, as it is open media. But I can't guarantee that you'll get hand painted in return.

I've done quite a bit of 4x6 inch journal pages, trading postcards, and calendar pages so 4x4 ought to be doable. I like the idea of 4 seasons. I found these 4x4 inch things on Amazon and will try them out for this swap even though they are a bit pricey. Crescent Artist Trading Cards 4"X4" 4/Pkg-Chunky Book - White I need to see how they stack up to chipboard NOS and heavy watercolor paper. So sign me up for this one.
