I've heard of crap on a cracker, but not a raft. That crap gets around. And that must mean you feel pretty horrible, Miss I.

Maybe today might be a nice day for a little share. Here is another book in a day by Kiala Givehand, I would consider this one to be a trick book...

Or how about some avocado pit carving? This video is not a tutorial, and I know from trial and error it is best to split the seed in half along the seam before carving. If you don‘t do that it may split during the drying process, ruining your carving (I didn‘t do it, carved a venus figurine and during drying her butt fell off...). Fresh avocado pits are a joy to carve or scratch designs into as they change colour as well.

Cute story: My mom wants me to make for her a bird ornament using a tart tin, similar to the one I made for Kwailin last month. Her mission today seems to be searching for more tins and birds! She's in Arizona, I'm in Iowa, and apparently she didn't have anything to do today so she ditched my dad and hit the road, scouring different stores for tins and birds. She keeps sending me pictures, asking, "Would these work?"
I'm still sick as a dog. I hope there's enough tea and Sudafed in the house to get me through this.
I'm in no shape to make a trip to the store (and it's only 11 degrees out actual temperature).

Oh poor Miss I, I really do wish for a very speedy recovery for you, and I hope your mom does find the right kind of tart tins
She sounds very sweet.

Actually Mel, I had her carved with a little round pedestal. Not only did her butt crack off, she also broke both her ankles and fell off her pedestal. I guess I will just try again, this time splitting the pit before carving.
For those of you that are into art journaling, or into using printed books as art journals, this lady made a lovely page with and from altered book pages, with hidden pockets and tags. And I really liked her cling film „waterizer“ technique.

Good Monday morning. I am going to start the week off badly by just saying out loud that I hate the new site changes. I can't find anything, I can't do anything and I don't have the time to learn it. So there. Got that off my chest.

Neener I hear ya. I find a lot of the changes quite annoying, too, but I can not say I find it worse now or I am just still too used to the way it was before.
The one thing I really would like to get rid of is the like and thank buttons. They seem to have eliminated a lot of chit chat and replaced it with the instant gratification of a click. Please peeps, keep on chatting, take the time to think of an answer and type it out, say where and about what you agree or where and about what you disagree. It keeps the threads so much more personal and unique.
And now I am sending you some good vibrations Neener, I hope the rest of the day goes better than your morning

I agree with both Neener & Gem. Like, Gem, I'm not sure if it's the changes or just me resisting the changes. I also think the like/thanks buttons are an unnecessary feature. We don't have nearly as much written input, regarding one's art, and we've lost the knack of using constructing critiques. I am as guilty as anyone of this. Back in the day ( I'm an original on the site) we used to post our pics, list what supplies we used & tell how it was done. I don't see that so much anymore. Yesterday I spent a couple of hours looking through my ATC binders & I can see that over the years peeps have scaled down info on the backs of the cards. All the supplies, the full artist name, the state/country, the swap host, etc. used to be listed. Now, I see cards with the swap name, screen name & state ( maybe) & that's about it.
I, too, have become lazy in that regard so I promise to be a better swapper/contributor in 2018........maybe
On another note: I made one of the 2 inch paper boxes & I am so hooked! They are easy & as cute as a button! So, if Me ( or someone else)l hosts a swap I will definitely be in!!
I used these instructions :http://www.creativity-portal.com/how...-overview.html

I hate the like/ thanks buttons. Immensely. Anyhoo, life goes on. Gotta try one of those boxes Lindy. Thanks for the vibes Gem. This winter has taken a serious toll on me. I have finally come to the painful realization that in my current circumstances, I don't have the time to do the things I really love. So I packed up all my pottery equipment in the last few days and will be moving the big kiln to the barn as soon as I can get some help. There aren't more than a few hours at a time now for me to do anything and once Spring gets here it will be even worse. Paper and drawing are all that I can manage, so I'd be up for a folded box swap if someone sets it up. I'm blessed in a lot of ways being single now, but all the work here is my sole responsibility and I don't see any light at the end of the tunnel. Don't know what I would do if I didn't have you guys in my corner.
My partner's postie is going out tomorrow. Love you guys.

Lindy I remember that I listed everything on the back of my very first swap atcs, it was an abstract swap and my cards made it just in time at the last minute. Now I would list card title, whom it was made for or swap name, my screenname and full name, country and month and year of creation. I would now list the materials in the gallery post, and I just realised I haven‘t posted in my gallery in ages!
AndI am so tempted to use the like/thank you buttons right now...
