Swap Due Date: Due Wednesday, Feb 28, 2018
Sign up / Withdraw date: Feb 21, 2018
Number of cards: 3 for 3
Number of participants: 20
Medium: Open Media

Theme: Foreign Love Letters
Create three original artist trading cards inspired by foreign love letters that deliver beautiful messages of friendship, love or inspiration. Start by pulling together materials you already have that fit the theme of post mail and/or images hinting at foreign places. Look for collage elements in your art stash to use like text in other languages, foreign stamps, images of foreign places, washi tape, characters etc. that you might like to include in your design. Consider what other supplies you have to enhance the love letter like rub-ons, stencils or stamps of post mail or symbols of love, wax seals, or interactive elements like a mini envelope or mailbox that you might like to create. If you would like to hand-write or use a printed message, consider looking up a phrase online in another language to add to your cards (you might use the translation as the title for your card so the recipient knows what it means). Then pull it all together into a pretty design that enhances the message and completes your foreign love letters.

I collected some images I found that use some of the art stash elements you might look for like images of post mail, writing, foreign stamps, etc... Idea is to make it feel like a love, friendship or inspirational letter coming from another country so elements of sweetness, post mail and 'something foreign' is what you will want to find for any combination of the three categories. Hey Bluevioletz I like the theme. Do you have any examples? I will lurk until I see what I can dig out of my stash.

Hi JavaZarf, Ann_Stebbing & BluSkyHare, hope you will all join!

I hope this inspires you, I think it will be really fun to see the designs you come up with with art stuff you have collected along the way! :D

I'm on the couch, but I do have the appropriate ephemera to pull this off and it is so fun to put together. I'll let you know when I commit. ;)
