Please sign me up! I haven't participated in a swap in a long time. I used to be in a local craft club in my area, and we would trade hearts every year, and it was my favorite project, so I am excited for this; thank you for hosting!

    heart sandwiches

Here are my hearts. Since you said they would be handled and that they must be sturdy, I cut out little, wooden hearts to act as the filling in each sandwich. The paper the hearts are made upon is either doubled or very heavy to begin with. Each heart has two sides. So the number one heart is the same in both photos. It has just been flipped to show the opposite side. The stack of hearts photo illustrates the wood filling. These are pretty sturdy. I also sealed them with a glaze to make them easier to handle. There is also a little woven heart basket that I will send for the host. Jan, it is not as sturdy as it is made of Valentine scrapbook paper but it should travel okay. You can hang it on your Christmas tree.
