Altered Jenga Blocks ~ Open Theme ~ Due April 24, 2018

    Due Date: April 24, 2018
Withdraw by Date: Anytime - just please communicate
    Number of Blocks: 3-6
    Number of Participants: Unlimited
Media: open media on a Jenga block

Altered Jenga Blocks ~ Open Theme

For this swap, you will alter Jenga blocks (or same-sized wooden blocks: approximately 3 inches tall, 1 inch wide, 1.5 cm deep), using any media on it that you choose.

Calm After the Holidaze_Altered Jenga Blocks b_2018.jpg

    Some pinterest inspiration

    Swap Requirements:

    • Altered wooden blocks: Jenga or same-sized (see dimensions above). You can add to the block (top, bottom, or both), but it needs to have the Jenga-sized dimensions as a starter.

    • 3:3, 4:4, 5:5, or 6:6. When you sign up, let me know how many you are making. Host gifts are never required. Please don't feel as though you have to make an extra to participate. However, I'll cherish them if you do.

    • Media is open. You can draw, collage, paint, add embellishments, dangles, whatever you choose...

    • Attach a way for them to hang. My examples above show a ribbon through an eye hook.

    • The front side must be fully decorated. The back can be simply painted or covered in decorative paper. Please sign your work on the back.

    • If you need to withdraw, just communicate. Players who disappear will receive neutral itrader.

    Mailing:

    • Protect your blocks in some sort of protective plastic, and package them securely in a small bubble wrap envelope. I will attempt to re-use the envie when I send returns.

    • Please include a large label with your name and address clearly written on it.

    • Postage: Artists must pay for their own return postage; either well concealed cash or US stamps. Include the amount it cost you to send to me. Postage rates recently went up. In the US, up to 4 ounces will cost $3.50. From what I could figure out online, it looks like international starts at $10 for a bubble mailer. I'll return unused money back to you.

    • Please request my address via private message when you are ready to send your artwork.

    • Artwork that arrives late, will be returned at your expense.

Feel free to share your artwork in the thread. It is always inspiring to see the work of others.

When you receive your returns, please leave itraders for me and rep points for the artists whom you receive work from.

Do we include the ribbon or cord, or just attach the screw-eye? I have to find some Jenga blocks before I sign up, going to Hobby Lobby later today, maybe I can find some there.

You attach the method of hanging. It doesn't HAVE to be the same as I did, but if you do use an eye hook, put ribbon or string or something. Wire could be fun. Or some sort of clip...

FYI...I just ordered 10 blocks on eBay for $4.99 free shipping. I know there were at least two more offers like this available.

You can also get a whole tin of generic ones at Walmart for less than $7. They are called Jumbling Tower

Welcome, Bluesky No problem. You all can change the amount you send in at any time, as well.

Hope to see you come back! I found them incredibly fun to do. I can't wait to experiment with some other ideas.

Snow day! I know I shouldn't be excited, considering we'll have to make it up during good weather, but I'm all for the instant gratification of getting to stay in my jammies all morning. Unfortunately, I've been awake since the 5 a.m. phone call.
