I think there are lots of different ways to approach it. Some simpler than others. I hope the sample on the blog is okay because I'm kind of thinking of going in that direction.

Nice job! I might try some felt tip pens. Is that what you used here? Looks great!
I gotta admit, I've been procrastinating on this one. But I finally did some pencil outlines and now I'll hopefully dive in and conquer my fears!

I’m with Melanie- new to pointalism, but excited to try! I have an example in my gallery (http://www.atcsforall.com/forum/gallery/index.php?u=42573)
and am enthusiastic about practicing this- I’ve never tried pointalism before, but it’s really fun. And thanks for including newbies!! It’s nice to know we’ll be welcomed.

Yes--I used sharpies and loved the process. I started with acrylics using both ends of my brushes but found it frustrating.

When I did that aboriginal painting swap I remember feeling frustrated trying to find something that made consistent nice dots. Felt pens are a great idea!
