What is the Pointillism? Swap: Due June 29, 2018

Hi Sarat, thanks for the invitation and I would love to join this swap. Actually I already made a couple off cards because at first I was afraid I would'nt have enough time. All these dots make you appreciate Seurat all the more. :) One question: what is the meaning of "SASE"? Bye, Simone (siempie_h) from Holland.

I need to join please! I absolutely love the pointillism and dot painting technique! Sakura gel and glaze pens are very nice at making dots and Microns in different sizes do well also.

So glad you decided to join. Yes--one does appreciate Seurat and working on a huge canvas as well.
SASE means self addressed stamped envelope .. Since you are an international player I will pay your postage, so you can just send me a label with your address or an envelope with your address on it.

Hope that clarifies your question.

Welcome! Welcome! Thanks for the additional tip on tools to make points/dots.

Would these be acceptable.

They are somewhat simplistic. I don't want people to be disappointed. The first 2 I did with felt tips. I have a very limited range. I then moved on to acrylics and a small paintbrush.

I can't say I enjoyed it, but it made me appreciate how some works took so long. Take a look at some of these.

Strangely, I love spending hours making patterns with dots though, but I think that's something different.

If the 4 above are OK, join me up.

I think doing them with just a Micron pen is the most satisfying for me. I can just concentrate on building up tones with more or less dots. I might try some colored pens just for fun. I'm kind of a black and white/pen and ink person, so I enjoy the minimalist approach of just a .01 Micron. I can get more detail into a small drawing than I can with paint. That's just my personal feeling. ;) I can't imagine doing a large painting! Those guys had patience!

Was in awe over the detailed pointillism link you posted.

If I haven't already mailed mine, I might add some background, these two sets look great. I thought you could only use dots and I really didn't have the patience to fill in all the backgrounds with dots. I am amazed at the variety you can get just using dots. I particularly like the black dot ones.
