Wedding Fever Mixed Media ATCs - Due July 20th 2018

Swap Due Date –20th July 2018
Signup/withdraw date – none, just communicate.
    Number of Cards - 3 for 3
    Number of participants - unlimited
Media – Open – but no photography, loose glitter or chunky embellishments please.
Wedding Fever – Mixed Media ATCs - Due 20th July 2018

Most people love a wedding, but nothing gets the media as excited as the prospect of a Royal Wedding. I thought it might be fun to host a swap on this theme as there is a Royal Wedding in the offing right now. Think of all the images – Flowers; Hats (I bet there will be some weird creations); Jewellery; Carriages; Dresses and Morning suits; Cute Bridesmaids; the list goes on. It doesn’t have to be the current Royal Wedding. Images from History or other wedding related images would be just as interesting.

    The cards

    - Each card must be ATC size, exactly 2.5" x 3.5" and on a sturdy base (cardstock, Bristol board, watercolor paper, chipboard), and sent in its own plastic sleeve.
    - Send work into which you put time, imagination and care, and would be happy to receive! I will attempt to trade effort for effort and media for media.
    - Each card must be original, no copies.
    - Label all cards with at least your real name, AFA username, date, location and name of the swap. A host card is not required but will be a very treasured addition to my growing collection.

    Postage/Mailing:
When taping the cards together, just a little washi tape works great to keep them in place while mailing (don’t use ordinary masking tape – it’s a nightmare and ruins the plastic sleeves). Please post in this thread when you are sending your cards out.

US Players: please send a well concealed $1 in with your cards.
Other International Players: Please send $1 in your envelope if you have them. Failing that PM me for paypal details.
Include a large address label with your address neatly printed. I will provide envelopes.

Please PM me when you are ready to send your cards, though I have not moved if you already have my address.

Make sure you allow your cards enough mailing time to get to me, I live in France. Late cards will be returned to the artist, unswapped, at their expense. Lack of communication and lack of ATCs may result in a Neutral iTrader. Please, please communicate.
Players - when you receive your cards for the swap, remember to leave iTrader for the Host (me) and Rep Points (You Rock) for the people you received cards from.

Please write your username and Swap Name on the back of your envelopes.
I will leave iTrader for each player as I receive their cards.

We love eye candy. So post photos of your cards to inspire us.

Perhaps I was wrong in thinking all the US players would love this one! I even saw a French magazine in the supermarket today with the front covered in photos of the royal family. Who'd have thought it.

Ann, I have been thinking about this one, but I need to see if I can come up with an idea first. It is funny how some swaps don’t have the popularity that we thought it would. I currently have one going that I cannot build up any interest in. Hopefully more people will join in this one!

Thanks for that Suzi. I have to confess I haven't given any thought to my own cards yet.

I've gotten up at 1:30 a.m. to watch ALL the royal weddings (except Andy & Fergie's, which I recorded and watched in morning )! For Chuck & Di my best friend and I actually stayed up all night (we were Diana's age so... ) and ate chocolate chocolate chip ice cream to celebrate. I got up to watch her funeral, too, and cried my way through it. I made my own fascinator for Will and Kate's, and when I couldn't find it for Harry and Meghan, I wore my Dodger Blue tiara (because Meghan and I are both L.A. born and I'm sure she's still as much a Dodger fan as I am). All that being said, like the others, I need to see what I can come up with before I officially sign up.

JazzEars, I just saw your cards in the gallery. They are all wonderful! But my personal favorite has to be our American Princess Grace.

Question, Ann - when you say "no photography," does that mean no printing out photos from the internet and using them within a collage? Or just no "only a photo" or a photoshop collage?

Ancient Planter, that's a great question - I never even thought about it, but is it okay to use magazine images (photos of Diana for example) in collage?

It is fine to use a photo image as part of a collage. Heck I would struggle with painting a recognisable 'royal'.

    Nice cards Jazz Ears.

I might pick an item, like a cake, or tiara, or the ring. Still thinking.

Since photos are part of the collage are okay, go ahead and sign me up! One more to go and I'll get them in the mail.

    Welcome Ancient Planter.

Would anyone mind if I enlarged the swap to any Wedding Related cards, we may get more players? I don't think I can change the titlle, I'd have to get the mods to do that I think. Maybe just 'Wedding Fever'. Let me know what you think.

You may be right that it might draw more players. I would have no problem with making it more general.
