This forum is for those of you who are creating journals for Zetti works.

I have a solid bound journal which I am currently working on.

Here is my method for work.

1/....Paint 1 double page spread every day except on Saturday and Sunday.

2/....Use sequin waste on all the back grounds.

3/....Never repeat a color scheme in the journal.

My journal when completed will have 50 double pages, so far I have painted 5 backgrounds. I will continue to paint the pages until the journal is full. Then I will return to the first page and begin to collage my images and complete each double spread.

I think my title page will be...'The End Is Near'.

The last double spread will be....'In The Beginning'.

Kooky I know....LOL....but I'm hoping to discover new things and to advance in my style, so it fits the concept well.

Who's going to join me on this journey?

Posting some decent pix, soon....hopefully....at the very least, not so decent pix...technology.....ARGHHHHHH!!!!!!.....more tempremental than a rock star!

Ooper timing T. Join in gf! Guaranteed to blast away the cob webbs and to step outside the box without any hang ups. LOL

I am applying gesso first to my pages. My journal is for drawing so the gesso just adds a bit of strength to the foundation. So far I have had 2 lots of paper lifting off with overlaying but it doesn't bother me as these areas will be collaged over or I will just add more tears and do an aged grunged look....decisions...decisions...play time soon....must complete the painting first....LOL

I have a blank journal just for Zetti art. I plan to somewhat follow Teesha Moore's format on YouTube (check out videos by teeshamoore.com). My plan is to draw more and relie on Zetti collage images less. Although I might use a collage head or something to start a drawing...shouldbe fun

Hey SM, glad you found me. I think that's a great concept of doing your own personal drawings. I love Teesha's style. So loose and relaxed, easy going, bright and fun. I love her you tube videos. If I were over there, I would do a class with her. Actually, I have a whole heap of zetti stamps....I might incorporate them into the journal. Excellent way of keeping track of my zetti stamps too....bonus.

Post your work up when you can. I'm still trying to sort my posting...LOL.

I also have alot of Zetti stamps that I could use. Hey, guess what? I complained to Kodak about my printer and scanner problems and they're shipping me a new one! Yahoo! I've got a tracking number and everything-I'm so excited! It'll probably be a refurbished one, but it's gotta be better than the one I've been trying to use!

Maggie that is awsome news. It really sucks when our computers and scanners missbehave.

Art2 I am just lurking here to see what you all do with your journals. I kinda like hand drawn zetties but Im not interestedd enough to make my own zetti journal.

SM, happy dance, happy dance....and....happy dance! That's awesome news. I'm excited to hear of Kodak's response. You must be elated. I don't think it would be a refurbished one....their reputation is important to them.

You have zetti stamps too. Oh, this is going to be fun. Hey, how does this sound....when we start to collage, how about we do some stamp collage piece swaps? Let me know what you think. I don't have a huge collection but an interesting one. We could create some collage elements, post them up and then trade. Whoa! Journal jam! Yay! If you have a specific page in mind, scan it up for me and I can tailor a collage for you. Happy dance...happy dance...LOL...I'm such a goose...LOL My keyboard is dying....I need to charge my batteries up....doh!

    G'Day Linda, lurk, smirk, don't be a party pooper....how about doing just 1 page....it's so much fun....no rules....lots of color....let your imagination run wild...no tame stuff here....LOL

Am trying to sort out scanning problems but I think on the last art discussion forum, or the one before that (doh) I scanned up the middle sections of my journal pages. First paint drafts, no detailing or refining, just creating moods with color. Have a gander, it might inspire you to play. My style isn't the norm as I tend to do abstract work but I do use the basic foundation principles. I'd love it if you joined in, throw on your mad artist beret, mon cherie, a think tank is ready to go and have some fun.

I will try to join in although my printer/flatbed scanner has died so until I replace it or get better at photographing my art, not sure about posting regularly. I may use the format Teesha used on her Youtube vids to get started. I have rons of Zetti stamps. They used to vend at a show we had in Cleveland for many years plus I got to go to Artfest in 2002 and 2006.

Vee, I was just going to suggest a zetti image swap when I read your post! That's a great idea! I don't have that many zetti stamps either....and keep forgetting to send you that one I promised you. Need to make a list....

OK, so far all I've done is paint my front and back covers pink (acrylic paint), then I'll add a little purple and do a black & white square border around both covers, and I have a Zetti image I'm putting on the front cover, along with the words "Zettiology Art Journal". I'll scan and post when I'm done

I don't mind stamping some Zetti images on plain white cardstock (or copier paper) if anyone wants them. Just don't go crazy on me, lol, I don't have the strength in my arms and hands any more so stamping can get tedious and sore for me

Sure I think I can do a page or two of some sort of zetti in my junque journal. But you ladies are going to have to give some eye candy to get my muse to let loose.

Greetings Zettiologists! Eye candy coming up but only mid sections of my journal as I couldn't scan the complete journal, it was too big to fit the scanner. Only first lay down of color so nothing fancy but have left plenty of room to play with and to dress up, so to speak....LOL.

You know, I can't put my finger on what it it that draws me to zetti work....it's either the bright colors mixed with black's and white's....or....the images of the imagination....or both....or the freedom to play. One thing I do know...I love it!
