HD/HP Precious Pollinators - Due 27th September 2018

Don’t our pollinating insects do a wonderful job? Many of them are in decline and if they died out mankind would follow pretty pronto. So let’s celebrate them by making some truly special art. There are all kinds of pollinators as well insects. Here are a few to get you thinking: Bees (of course); Beatles; Bats, Butterflies and even some Birds. That’s just the ‘B’ section. Have fun researching. Your pollinator should be the main focus of the card. Pencils, pens and paint for media, and any realistic style. A botanical study would be great as would a picture of said pollinator doing it’s important work. I am happy with a pencil or pen only study, but please PM me if you are one of those participants who like their work fully coloured and I will try and make sure that's what you get.

The cards

- Each card must be ATC size, exactly 2.5" x 3.5" and on a sturdy base (cardstock, Bristol board, watercolor paper, chipboard), and sent in its own plastic sleeve.
- Send work into which you put time, imagination and care, and would be happy to receive! I will attempt to trade effort for effort.
- Each card must be original, no copies.
- Label all cards with at least your real name, AFA username, date, location and name of the swap. A host card is not required but will be a very treasured addition to my growing collection.

Postage/Mailing:
When taping the cards together, just a little washi tape works great to keep them in place while mailing (don’t use ordinary masking tape – it’s a nightmare and ruins the plastic sleeves). Please post in this thread when you are sending your cards out.

US Players: please send a well concealed $1 or Global forever stamp in with your cards.
Other International Players: Please send $1 in your envelope if you have them. Failing that PM me for paypal details.
Include a large address label with your address neatly printed. I will provide envelopes.
Please PM me when you are ready to send your cards, though I have not moved if you already have my address.

Make sure you allow your cards enough mailing time to get to me, I live in France. Late cards will be returned to the artist, unswapped, at their expense. Lack of communication and lack of ATCs may result in a Neutral iTrader. Please, please communicate.
Players - when you receive your cards for the swap, remember to leave iTrader for the Host (me) and Rep Points (You Rock) for the people you received cards from.

Please write your username and Swap Name on the back of your envelopes.
I will leave iTrader for each player as I receive their cards.

We love eye candy. So post photos of your cards to inspire us.

I would like to join. Here are my cards. You might know that I would do bats. But then I wimped out with an unoriginal honey bee.

View attachment 197719 Lesser Long-nosed Bat (Leptonycteris curasoar) found in the Sonoran Desert. It feeds on the Saguaro cactus blossoms.

View attachment 197718 Dawn Bat (Eonycteris spelaea) feeding on Parkia. Found in Thailand

View attachment 197720 Kinkajou (Potos flavus), also known as "honey Bear". It drinks nector from the balsa tree. It is found in the rainforests of Central and South America. It is related to the raccoon.

I decided to go for a full 6:6 swap. By the way, pollination by bats is called chiropterphily

Wow! All my lurkers you really want to join because jo.on.the.go's beautiful cards have arrived. You should see them guys they are absolutely gorgeous. Now I'll have to get on with my cards. There's plenty of time yet but I have family arriving soon so cards will take a back seat. Thanks for the extra card Jo. It's going to be so hard to choose which one to have. They are all fabulous.
