Hello Folks, just a quick heads-up that our swap deadline is just two weeks away! We have a small but mighty group, and enough players for everyone to still get 3 returns from all different artists!

New pipes are installed and we are up and running again but further work needs to be carried out on the boiler so my craft room is still all boxed and piled up....BUT.... I have found my desk and gessoed my teabags.
I hope to finish them this week and get them mailed asap. Will confirm posting later.

OK...I'm not a fabulous hdhp artist to begin with and the texture of the tea bag was different.

I did 4 hand drawn teabags yesterday and feel like they are smeary. I don't have gesso to put an under coat, plus I actually like the natural look of the teabag. I'm going to use a fine tip pen tonight to maybe add some detail. I'm sorry I didn't take pics or I would share.

Would pointillism with thick acrylic be acceptable? If adding some fine lines don't work that'll be my next experiment.

I'm also not an HD/HP artist but do enjoy the challenge even if the results are not brill to my eyes.
I have found another challenge while painting/drawing, which shape teabags do I send in?
I have managed to get my hands on six teabags - three oblong and three round. Does shape matter is now the question!!!

I laid a layer of gesso on the teabag and, when it was dry, used gel pens to draw.

No worries, Haagmm. I am not the most fabulous hd/hp artist, but I feel like the tea bag is such a small canvas that I can create a focal item that is Ok on its own, and it doesn't have to be a complex drawing.

Pointillism would be just fine, since it is still within the realm of hd/hp.

Those are wonderful, Bishopsmate! Any individual-sized teabag works for me. I already have an assortment, so there is no particular shape that you have to have.

Tammy - I have sent you a pm for your address as my choice has been made and they are in the envelopes ready to go into the post first thing Monday morning. By my reckoning that gives them 10days to cross the pond so should be ok..

Here are my tea bag art attempts. I was going with a Japanese theme. I'll put what they are and then what my dear teenagers thought they looked like:
    Cherry Blossom Branch
    Fan (ferris wheel)
    Lanterns (BB-8 from Star Wars)
    Koi

Yeah, teenagers will keep ya humble that's for sure.

TSMarie - if these are not up to the quality of what you are expecting, please let me know. I'll be more than happy to sit this one out. Thank you!

Hahaha! Your teenagers made me laugh! But truly, they are lovely, and will be great for the swap!

My three tea bags are ready to swap out! I decided to make a lotus, a goldfish, and to offer my red tea cup that I made some time ago.
