TAD, sent you an envelope yesterday, and I should have another by the weekend.
Ferretgirl, I think I mailed an envelope to you a couple of weeks ago. I don't have any with your name on them in my box.

I have a bunch of CRRR sets but I am in week 6 of a 7-week intensive summer online math course (with my son) that has severely impacted my artwork. I have received quite a few sets and will be back to working on them as soon as the math course is over...counting the days!

Gosh, mrubyjean! Seems like "counting" the days is the last thing you'd want to do right now!

"Intensive summer math course" has a horrible ring to it, like "massive train wreck" or "cruel and unusual punishment".
Good luck! Throw a party when you're done!

I got what is either an avocado or pear set from ancient planter, and I worked on it and mailed it on.

Or that set might have been from Ferretgirl, I get those two confused, as they are both from the West coast and are have the same first name. Sorry. I did mail it off.

Those vintage images are interesting. I am intrigued.

I sent out some envelopes today. Looks like Prayer at night, TAD, Hey Maggie, and dang it someone else. Well that might be a surprise.

I've never done a CRRR before but I'm interested. I have a couple of questions.

From what I can tell by looking at pics: the three starters need to be similar, right?
Then player 1 sends them to whoever they want or is a group assigned?
Player 2 does something to all 3 cards and then sends them to player 3, is it still supposed to be similar for all 3 cards?
Player 3 puts on finishing touches, keeps one and sends the other to player 1.

How do you keep track of all the cards in various stages of various types of swaps?
Is there an expected time limit to how long you keep a set?
I saw that if you don't know what to do just send them to someone else. Does this apply also if feel like you are not going to get to them for a few days / weeks / months?

Most players make them similar, but I have seen some that are not.

Then player 1 sends them to whoever they want or is a group assigned?

you send them to anyone you want as long as they are on the active list and what is already on the cards is not on their dislike list.

Player 2 does something to all 3 cards and then sends them to player 3, is it still supposed to be similar for all 3 cards?

yes, player 2 adds whatever they want, usually keeping them all similar, then sends to player 3, again to anyone as long as they are on the active list and what is already on the cards is not on their dislike list.

Player 3 puts on finishing touches, keeps one and sends the other to player 1.

    yes

How do you keep track of all the cards in various stages of various types of swaps?

I keep my round robin cards in the envelopes they came in and make notes on the envie as to what I wanted to stitch.

Is there an expected time limit to how long you keep a set?

there is no time limit. some players have a quick turn around and some keep them for awhile.

I saw that if you don't know what to do just send them to someone else. Does this apply also if feel like you are not going to get to them for a few days / weeks / months?

yes it is ok to send them on to someone else if you don't feel inspired.

since there is not a time limit please don't feel rushed to get them done.

if you feel like you are getting behind and don't want players sending you cards you can be put on a homers only list which means you will receive completed cards that you started or worked on but will not be sent any cards to work on.

I've done the same thing as Java - if you start feeling overwhelmed, you can go on homers only. This is a really interesting thread in that there isn't a set deadline. I enjoy that, but it does mean cards can hang around for a long time. Still, you're only doing a third of a card, so it isn't a worry if you don't get them for awhile. At least that is my philosophy on it. And you get some really cool cards and some really interesting challenges. Sometimes I get a set and I'm like "what in the wide, wide world of sports am I going to do with this?" Then I sit with them for a bit and come up with something, which has been fun.

Only other thing I'd expand on is the similar or not question. I feel like all of the cards tend to be in the same wheelhouse or near identical. If they are similar I'm usually a little looser with my concepts. For example, if I have images of different drums, I would feel comfortable adding the drums to similar cards. But, if all the starter images are identical, I usually try to keep all three the same. (Although I broke my rule of thumb on some robot cards HeyMaggie sent me!)
One can only dream of what never was
and as for what "really is,"
    remember:
    it doesn't exist.

I think I’ll join. I do not like spiders, nudity, profanity, dark themes, political stuff. Also please avoid clusters of small holes. It’s a weird thing, I know. I actually hate that punchinella stuff, which is why I often cut it into scallops.

Haagmm, I sometimes send very dissimilar starters, but I try to do that only with players who've told me they don't mind them. I've found that they can be fun, too, especially if you only have one of say, an embellishment or collage image. If you do not want to receive dissimilar cards in a set, please PM me and let me know.

I don’t mind dissimilar starters. I also don’t mind chunky embellishments- as long as it fits in a sleeve. And I don’t mind glitter.
