I did one card that I really like, and the second one that I will say I “learned from”. Just wanted to share this little tip (even though most may have already figured this out)! If you choose to color the white backgrounds, try to use a pastel color or a color that contrasts well with the little image in the center. The background color I used was a deep blue (for surrounding water) against the deep green sail on the boat. I should have known better. Couldn’t change it, so went ahead and finished the card. It’s not bad, but would look so much better if that sail stood out better. I just thought I would share this learning experience. Will post pics soon.

CiCiCreates, I'm at the point in my art where most everything I do is a learning experience! I appreciate being able to learn from others, though!

"Good-bye" - Handpainted scene with crosstitched boat. I thought it looked like a Chinese Junk, and I highlighted the sail a bit.
"Fireman's Helper" - Hydrant crosstitch, handpainted hose and ladder. Dalmation puppy was handdrawn, cut out, and collaged.
"Rain" - Umbrella crosstitch, collaged water-can, hand-drawn and painted garden with fairy.

I am having so much fun looking at all the cards as they come it.

It is going to be so hard, but also so fun to send you all cards.

I would love to put them all in one big picture.

Love them, ksj1717! Those teal shades are so pretty, and I really like the rainbow colors on the one umbrella. The fire hydrant one is so cute and funny! It looks like that is really what he is thinking.

Oh everyone is so right, that fire hydrant is a hoot.

Hey what is everyone using to color the backgroundS of the Aida cloth? Does any marker, or paint work? Will copics, which are alcohol inks? will acrylics?

CQ, I used markers, acrylic paint, and colored pencil on one. Almost everything but watercolors, I thought that might bleed into the image.

I used water based brush tipped markers and barely touched the fabric; it soaked the ink up.

I'm not sure the swimming with the big fish meets the swap rules but it was already glued down - - -oops

I'm just realizing that maybe there is another cross stitch around here that I'm missing since I only have 5

Cici I love your cards and how you colored them to blend right in with the background. Especially the girl waving at the boat
