i have nearly finished a card, but 'til then: these guys/gals were at the nursery today
these are desert tortoises, and they seem mighty close to being from another era, don't you think?

i have just tried to antique my metal gears (which were quite shiny) using this recipe, with pretty good luck:
IN A GLASS JAR:
mix enough liquid to cover objects + an inch:
2 parts vinegar
1 part peroxide
tsp table salt
i let it set overnight - until the liquid was pretty dark
drain on paper towel til dry
i didn't stir it, but i think that would have helped
