Today I really felt like sharing how to make Spirit Dolls. You can make them from all kinds of stuff, with twigs, wooden spoons or paintbrushes as base. You can use polymer clay faces or painted faces, you can dress them up maybe according to their specific meaning/intention (if they have one). I love making spirit dolls.

and another really short step by step video tut

Almost lost you all. Just have to lurk for now. If I have any time this weekend maybe I can do something if my partner will take pot luck. If I get it done, I'll sign up.

Gem, I use Instagram and Pinterest for times that I have to wait. So, if I'm at an appointment...it helps move the time...but also for inspiration for new ideas.

Okay...it's my day off...so hmmm...maybe I should be sharing too! LOL! (Gah, thanks for picking up my slack Gem! You are keeping the thread alive!!!)

Here's a couple of things I saw that I dig...hope you dig 'em too (Also, I found the Artist Coin video...while watching Gem's share on dolls )

    Artist Coins

I love this next idea...it's just another spin on a travel paint pallet. I tried to cut and paste the pic here, but I can't do it from Instagram...I believe it's a safety feature, so that no one can steal pics? Anyways, here's the link: By Zemletty

She took a mint tin...and cut her water soluble paint sticks to size and fit them in snuggly. I think this is a great idea for when you're nearly at the end of your sticks. Check out the link to see what I mean

Okay dears...I have to skedaddle...I have a lot to catch up on today...one of those things is making domino dolls for Nanner's swap...I'm nearly out of time...and I find it funny that she made the due date on the same date as the tax due date!

Mel this thread got me through some tough times and I think EAU is a great platform for ideas exchange and at times also support. Knowing there is someone “out there” thinking of us when we are in dark places is a very good thing, and receiving lovely envies is always nice, too

I love your trading coins share, and especially the mini travel pallette with the paint sticks! That one is ingenious!

I never use the internet for waiting time entertainment, my phone is c**p when it comes to connecting to the web, so I usually resort to using a bookbook, here is a nice example of one

Also I agree, this thread has gotten me through some rough patches over the years. It really is nice to know that you have someone out there that can empathize with what you're going through, give encouragement and advice. Even if we didn't have an enough player's for a swap...I'd have the thread here...as long as I was allowed to.

I did SunTrade though I have to admit I have never seen them before. They seem to be great for gradients, and if you can really get separate refills of everything that would be great. I wonder if the “blending fluid” is basically just an alcohol solution because they are alcohol based markers?
If you can buy them individually I would say try one or two just to see how they are doing, and I would also check the refill prices. It’s not much help if the refills are more expensive than a new marker (like the printer/ink dilemma)...

I think in the next couple of days I want to make a couple of little dangly bits that can go on the spines of my diy scetchbooks. So I was looking for shortish tuts, I found one for bohemian beads , and I was also intrigued by altered paper clips. I have in my treasured possession a paperclip in the shape of a bird that our dear Nanner sent me a good while back, but I had no idea that altering clips was also a thing...

On an unrelated subject; I was on a night out yesterday with a lot of the other mothers from my youngest kids school class. (You will see why this is remarkable in a minute) We went for a really lovely dinner and afterwards into the pub for some drinks and live music. I have to say I do not drink alcohol usually, it doesn’t agree with me at all (skin rashes) and so I was a designated driver and the only one sober, but I did enjoy the evening immensely. Then a friend of mine and I compared when we had been out the last time and I said the last time I had a night out was for her 40th birthday party (I was a driver that night, too) and her face fell and she said “ But that was 2 years ago!” She asked when I was out the last time with my husband, and I had to think for a while. The last time I was out with him was just after I had my Thyroid removed in 2015, and we went for an hour or so to have dinner in a restaurant, and before that was the night I told him I was expecting the twins, and thatwas Valentines day 2013!
I think I must have “won” our little comparison because my friend offered to babysit my 4 critters for my 40th birthday this year
