I’m still working in 2 regular sized art journals, but you guys have really turned me on to the mini journals. I have 3 put together now, trying 3 different binding methods, and started working in the first one. They will each have a specific theme. It is pretty fun and kind of addictive! I will post pics when I get a few more pages done.

Tri-fold-folio plus a mini frog journal. The frog journal is made with purchased digital in my hand made cover. The folio is covered with an antique doily and embellished wih a bird image and air dried clay molded rose.

The first side opens with a pocket holding several tags in the pocket.

There is a narrow sleeve type page with small pockets on the front, long narrow cards tucked inside and roses on the back of that page.

With both sides open you see a pocket journal in the right side pocket, and think pink center opens up to a stash of watercolor paper.

On the right side flap you have a pocket journal and bird printed envelope with a journaling card tucked in. On the other side of that page is a long pocket with a couple of tags and the bird at the top is a removable "wordy Bird" paperclip.

Pocket Journal for Nature Folio. Cover is a tri-fold gel print painted and the title embellishment tucks under a narrow slip to lock closed. Journal is filled with assorted pages of hand died papers, scrapbook paper, trims and a fold out piece of smooth Bristol cardstock on the inside right cover.

Mermaid journal page traded to Linda. I started this a couple years ago and then life got in the way. Linda has been extremely patient with me! The center square is a print a friend gave me of a paper collage she made. She though I could use it in my art. I am hoping now that I have completed this page I can stay in the journal zone because I have more that are owed in trade and they are in process . . .

A purely digital journal page with "natural" photos. The work that went into this page is this: The two photos were taken different years and under different weather conditions. The large background photo was taken during a snow storm and is facing Northwest. The Deer was taken on a sunny day and is facing Northeast. The temperature, hue, saturation and brightness clashed between the two photos so the values were adjusted so that both photos could be collaged together and be more pleasing to the eye. This is one of my favorite photos of our backyard during a storm.


Noel - Digital Photo Watercolor

The photo taken of Noel the deer is a distance photo so blowing it up to a large format created pixelization. Turning it into a digital watercolor helps resolve that issue.

Both pages are 8x8.

I am finally back home. I don't plan to do any trading for awhile, but do hope my muse will make good use of my huge store of new dies to work on journals for my family. I will share when I do.
