    Cards are ready to mail!

Thanks for hosting this swap fg. It was lots of fun to make the cards, and now I have a lot of extra backgrounds, and lots of great inspiration thanks to the talented players in this one.

I was able to find some fun tutorials on line, so I used a couple of different techniques.

The "Live, create, tell the story" card and the "go where your heart takes you" cards were made with the traditional technique (except the litte flowers where I just pulled off some of my inks with a credit card and swiped it onto cardstock).

For the "yoga pants" card, I pulled off some inks with a credit card and pushed it through a stencil. You can see the lines in the background.

nd for the "upon a shore" card, I swirled the inks into the shaving cream and let it sit overnight before I pulled the print. I like you you see little white "bubbles" from that.

    Here are my cards:

Oh, there probably are. I'll have to take a look-see when I have a bit more time. I do know that sometimes when you mix embossing powders you can come u p with some really cool colors but I don't have a lot of colored embossing powder; most of mine are black, white, silver & gold....

I have only used the white, but I have ordered some colored, so it will be fun to experiment.

Hi ArbitraryStar! Sure, why not? I bet those would turn out rather neat looking, personally...

My final session of marbling didnt turn out so well. I was close to the end of the can of really cheap shaving lather and it was a bit watery, so i got more acrylic smears than marbling but i think i can get some backgrounds out of them, so the paint isn't wasted. After three sessions i have a big supply of painted paper!

Iíve been lurking and I have it a try today. I used alcohol inks and they seem to sink through the shaving cream. Has anyone else had this? Iíve heard you can do it with food coloring. I might give that a try tomorrow. What is everyone else using?

Also, is there a trick to get the foam off the paper without smearing the color?

I used acrylics and a large cooking spatula. I had great results.

I actually used acrylic paint for mine. I didn't have inks or food coloring. I also didn't have a squeegy (and couldn't find one at the Dollar Tree) so I used a very wide spatula. I found that the faster I moved the spatula to remove the foam the less it smeared. Hope this helps.

    Just the backs to do

These will go out today or tomorrow, I still need to do the backs. I tried alcohol inks, spray inks and acrylic paint. The acrylic paint didn't come out so well but I was at the end of can and it was a bit watery. I think with the shaving cream the results are all a bit soft focus, not the crisper lines you get with the regular marbling medium. (I haven't done that for 20 years, I forget what it is called). I do have a fresh stack of painted paper, you will be seeing a lot of it in my cards!

Hello!! My cards are almost ready. Will you please sign me up? Iíll admit, Iím having trouble covering much of these backgrounds, so my cards are fairly simple. I paired them up with some of the Oscar de la Renta stamps, which are gorgeous.

I have your address from the music swap. Iíll post pics when the cards are done.
