notinkansas, could we make these tags (the exact size required) out of chunky cardboard, cut up chunky books, or some unusual backing? i have been following linda4atc's "journal chat", and they are having fun sharing stories about using different kinds of books (and papers) for journals.

As long as they will fit in a standard business size envelope I am fine with it. Actually it sounds interesting

As far as I can tell from a Hobby Lobby search, the 15 pack of Kraft paper tags are 5 1/4 x 2 5/8 which should be fine.
