OK, so. I worked on my cards today, which was fun. And I very carefully took a photo of the trash from the first card I worked on, not opening all the trash at the same time, so as not to get it confused. Of course, this means I totally forgot to take photos of the second and third bits of trash. Sigh. (Luckily, this is the card where I changed the trash the most.) Anyway, here's the first card (with "before" trash) - this is for karr3ll
    031.jpgspecial1.jpg

The houses are made from the piece of brown paper - I coloured in the back of it - I also cut some words out of the paper for later use. The path is made from the "8" sticker - again, the back of it. The background for this card (and all of them, as well as a set of RR starter cards) is made from the paper that JavaZarf used to send the trash to us!

Here are my other two, and a hostie.

The first is for haagmm, one of her fabulous stamps. The stamp led the card, and I chose the definition attire (with a hint of attitude showing) from the dictionary page. The big star is cut from the punched circle, covered with the thin gauzy mesh, which I also used as a strip behind the stamp. The small stars are cut from the shiny paper. I think I need a star shaped punch, lol. The words are from my stash, but that was all I added.

The second card is for bluskyhare - "Wee Pal Yarn Group" - the knitting mouse is cut out from an image sent (basically just cut away the background), the yarn is wrapped and stapled, the flower is pretty much as it was sent. The word "pal" as well as the phrases "yarn group" and "wool and alpaca for everyday" are from the paper sleeve from a ball of yarn. I got lucky with the "W", which was the final item, as I have the same set of Tim Holtz letters (or a very similar one), so I was able to spell with it... I added the other mouse and a sheep (because it's a wool group, right?)

And finally, the hostess card uses a little bit of the dictionary page from haagmm's trash, and more stars cut from her shiny paper. The words "art" "design" and "painting" are from the brown paper and from the yarn wrapper, so I did manage to put a little of everyone's trash on this card. Fun!

I was going to say that, as well (congratulations, I mean) - then I got distracted with posting my cards and forgot. 50 years is pretty awesome. And it doesn't really seem that long to me anymore, as I've racked up 26 myself and I'm not at all old

All of your cards are wonderful, katelnorth! Thank you so much for the sweet Wee Pals card! I just figured you could use the cardboard of the yarn sleeve but you used the text on it! It makes me smile.

And a big congrats to JavaZarf! I'm on year 34 with my guy (counting all the years we lived together before tying the knot), so I know that you are one strong gal! lol

You never know what you will get when you are dealing with trash.
I finished T12 this weekend. I turned everything into mostly unrecognizable.

I just opened my envelope and took a peek at the baggies of trash. I received bags from Pisces Dreamer, Nanvan and Dnewton972. I am going to think on the supplies and hopefully some great creativity strikes me. I've got a couple of swaps that I'm lurking in for June so it'll probably be a couple weeks before I really work on these.

Glad you like it - such a great stamp to work with - wouldn't have wanted to cut it up or alter it in any other way!
