:duck: Round Birds :duck:

The best birds are the roundest birds. For this swap, draw your very roundest birbs to share with other round birb lovers.

:duck: Bird Guidelines:

  • At least one bird friend per card.
  • Each birb pal must be different (though you can have multiple birbs of the same species).
  • Any style is ok (realistic, cartoony, etc).
  • Make sure the birbs are very round, spherical fellows.
  • If your birdos turn out kind of stupid looking, so much the better!

:duck: Card Guidelines:

  • Cards must be entirely hand-drawn and/or hand-painted.
  • No entirely white backgrounds - add a bit of background behind your birb, even if it's just a scribble of colour.
  • On the back of the card, add your card's title, your username, real name, swap name, date, and any other info you want to include (maybe the species of your birds?)
  • Make sure your cards are 2.5" x 3.5", and are made from sturdy paper.
  • As always, I'll do my best to swap effort for effort.
  • Host cards are very appreciated but never necessary.

:duck: Mailing:

  1. Please PM me for my address when you're ready to mail your cards. I live in Canada, so give your cards plenty of time to arrive - most mail from the USA takes about business 5 days, but it occasionally takes longer. To be safe, it's best to send about 2 weeks before the deadline.
  2. Put each of your cards in a plastic sleeve and secure them inside the envelope, either by taping them together or taping them to a card/piece of paper.
  3. Tell me your username and which swap this is for - include a note or write on the back of the envelope.
  4. Include a large, clearly written address label with your address. (You can send an envelope if you prefer, but don't attach postage to it unless it's Canadian postage.)
  5. Include return postage.

:duck: Postage:

  • Canada: include a permanent domestic stamp.
  • USA: include a global forever stamp - the round one that looks like a moon or a succulent. (I can use these in other swaps.) Please don't send any other type of postage (eg domestic stamps or mitered postage). Paypal is also an option.
  • International: Paypal me $2.65 for postage using "family and friends" method. If Paypal isn't an option, PM me and we can figure out something else.

Confused about postage? Please PM me or post in the thread!

When you've finished your cards, post them to the thread to show them off! I'll post some round birds for inspiration as well.

Once you've receive your cards, remember to leave iTrader for the host (that's me!) and "You Rock"s for your swap partners.

Welcome, kathleenlovesflorida, Essy, and prex 79! Hope you're able to join ius, CiCiCreates :)

FYI everyone who's joined so far - I added a note to the card guidelines for no white backgrounds. Just a squiggle of colour is fine but make sure there's something in the background and not just your birbs on the card :)

For anyone who wants to try something a bit more realistic, Majnouna on deviantart has created some great guides to drawing birds:

They also drew this lovely round chickadee:
