Ok, aaeshelman, (and anyone else interested), here are some photos of my Fairyland tin opened and closed, and drawn directions how to do it, I hope it is clear. If you click the directions, it should be bigger.

If course adding the ribbon tab is not necessary for any reason, it’s just a cute touch and may make it a bit easier to open. Some tins are really easy to open and close, and others are a bit stiffer. I have been told that just a tiny dab of Vaseline around the rim can ease opening and closing.

My first tin is complete. I call it... Letters to Santa. The front is a gingerbread theme with a mailbox overstuffed with letters. Inside you will find Mrs. Claus decorating for Christmas. A curious deer climbs up the stairs to help Santa gather gifts.

Absolutely marvelous, Miss Fame!! So much wonderful detail to look at, I bet a viewer could always see something new and different. I love the wrapped presents, and those stairs are so innovative! Thanks so much for the exciting inspiration!

Thank you CiCi! I'm glad you like my creations
Tonight I finished #2, Let it Snow. I really like how my marbled clay turned out on the lid front/back. Plus it was my first time making garland that is draped around the door.

Here's tin #3: Baked with Love
The front is a gingerbread house made from clay, glossy accents, and stickles.
Inside is a sweet explosion of sugar happiness. There are various baked goodies with a cutting board hanging to the left, and an apron to the right (hard to see in this photo). A few snowflakes were added for more decor.
Inside lid are metal elements with acrylic paint detail. Gold eyelash trim was used to add additional sparkle.

Woooohoooooo!!! I’m the first here to earn the 3 C’s! Oh yea!
These are just so much fun to create. This week I hope to complete the 4th. My sister is throwing a fit that I haven’t made her one yet. So she will get my 5th one.

Here is my last piece. It's a sewing room prepping Santa's suit for his big day.

    BUMP!

I am just now pulling my supplies together, and I'm going to have to dig out Christmas decorations to uncover (fingers crossed) some tiny little bottle-brush trees in pink and white. I really want to use them!

I'm hoping a few more peeps will decide to play . . . Miss Fame, that gingerbread house is adorable!
I updated my available ATCs on September 30th, 2019 . . . I have a lot of available cards, and I'm always willing to trade!

Amyfaerie, I do still have one baggie left, of assorted little Christmas items to use in your scenes, if you want to claim it. Just PM me your address if so.

Thank you so much, CiCi, but I think I'm okay! I found my trees this afternoon, along with some bells and tiny candy canes. I bought a sprig of glittery holly and aerosol snow today, so I believe I'm covered. I'm excited to get started this weekend!

Thank you Amy ❤️ I'm relatively new to working with clay. It's so relaxing! I placed a lot of time into these tins and am glad to hear positive feedback.

How is everyone coming along with your North Pole tins? It is so fun to decorate lids and make little scenes for the inside - one can envision so many different themes. I think a Nursery Rhyme and Fairytale theme would be cute, and an opera theme would be dramatic and elegant. Not everyone is into opera, but I am, and can see a tin portraying Carmen or Madame Butterfly. I will take a breather before hosting another tin swap, but I may just create some on my own.

I have painted little peg dolls as elves for the interior of my tins, and they have felt hats and scarves. My doors are finished, too. I've only just started assembling everything. : )
