Post-Christmas/NY ATART Dec 28 to Jan 5, '20
This ATART is open to everyone and every kind of level and types of art.
If you want to try something new but are worried you can't make enough for a swap - try it here!
If you have questions about a particular technique - ask here! There is sure to be someone who has tried it before, if not, I LOVE learning something new.
Start time (in MY time zone) 12.01am (JUST after midnight) on Saturday 28 December, 2019 and end time 11.59pm (midnight) on Sunday 5 January, 2020 in the latest time zone, or thereabouts. . .
What we can do: ATCs, APCs, ATCoins (2.5" circle), Chunky pages (4" x4"), Inchies (1" x1"), Twinchies (2" x2"), Moos (1" x2.75"), tags, rolos , shaped cards (houses, arches, etc), postcards (4" x6"), bookmarks (2" x6") or whatever type of art your Muse calls you to create
All mediums are welcome: collaging, sewing, painting, drawing, digital, napkins (with or without beeswax), washi tape, photographs, beading . . .
All styles are welcome: zentangles, stamps (postage and rubber), stickers . . .
And of course we can trade.
OPTIONAL CHALLENGES FOR THIS ATHON:
Saturday: Christmas &/OR making cards from leftover wrapping paper &/OR ONLY using Christmas colours (red/green/gold/white)
Sunday: APCs &/OR ALTERNATE Christmas colours - ie NO red or green allowed &/OR after Christmas (for Santa, elves, us)
Monday: try a different size - smaller (Inchies, Twinchies, Moos, ATCoins), bigger (Chunkies, postcards), longer (bookmarks) &/OR monochromatic &/OR b/w with 1 other colour
Tuesday: try a different media - if you normally collage try drawing; if you normally draw try napkins and beeswax; try origami; try iris or teabag folding; try stitching or fabric; try zentangles; etc &/OR snow (snowflakes, people/animals/things in the snow, snowmen and women, etc)
Wednesday: New Year (resolutions, greetings, party, Father Time and baby New Year, etc) &/OR something old/something new (old favourites - techniques/colours/styles but used in a new way) &/OR celebrate the Past (Vintage anything, favourite decades - I love flappers and Art Deco (20's and 30's), etc)
Thursday: all the good things in life &/OR with text &/OR stencils &/or punches
Friday: things with wings &/OR tea and coffee (use them to draw with/colour your cards, teapots and cups, tea parties - think Mad Hatter, etc) &/OR shaped cards (start with a standard ATC then cut your shape, keeping as close to ATC size as possible - houses, arches, etc)
Saturday: stamps (postage and rubber) &/OR stickers &/OR washi tape
Sunday: reuse your Christmas cards (make ATCs, Inchies, Moos, etc) &/OR finish those cards that you started but didn't finish during this ATART
What IS an ATART?
It's an All Types of ART marathon where you can create art, done over the same time in each time zone. This thread will be our communal craft room.
How it works:
Start creating art when it's time to start, then upload your lovely creations to your Athon Gallery and post to the thread. Trading and chatting are going on all the time as people are awake in different time zones.
How to ask for a trade:
When you see a piece of art you would like to trade, please SEND A PERSONAL MESSAGE (PMt so that person asking for a trade. Please DO NOT post requests for trades in the thread - it can get way too confusing and may be missed in all the chatter.
NOTE: if you do make a trade, please be sure to send it to your trade partner within 2 weeks. If you're running late, communicate!
Want to compliment an artist:
And you will. . . remember you can click the 'You Rock' button and leave your compliment/comment there.
HOW TO POST YOUR ART TO THE THREAD:
From your atcsforall.com gallery
It's easiest to have 2 windows open.
1) Go to your Gallery and right click on the picture you wish to post - this brings up a menu that includes 'Copy image'
2) Click on this
3) Go to your post in the thread and hit 'Paste' (Ctrl V)
4) This allows you to add 10 full size images to your post.
OR
Thumbnails (only 5 of these can be attached to a single post)
1) at the bottom of a new post there is a 'Go Advanced' button - click on this
2) you will be taken to a new window, which will still show anything you have already posted. In the top line of commands there is a paper clip - put your cursor over this and it will come up with the label 'Attachments'
3) left click on the paper clip and a 2nd new window will appear.
4) click on 'ADD FILES' at the top and then click 'BROWSE'. This will allow you to browse your computer and choose the saved image you wish to upload.
5) A list of the images you have chosen appears at the bottom of your post
NEW TO ATARTS?
If you have any questions at all, feel free to PM me or post your questions to the thread. We have a lot of experienced art-a-thoners who are more than willing to help those of you new to this wonderful craziness.
IMPORTANT: REMEMBER TO PUT YOUR USERNAME ON THE BACK OF YOUR CARDS. You can't get an iTrader if your trading partner doesn't know who you are.

I will count us down to start time but will be unable to load any of my creations until MUCH later that day as my computer will be in Queensland and I will be in Victoria when we start.
This is the official ATART thread so you can bookmark and get backgrounds, etc ready beforehand if you would like.
Looking forward to relaxing with you all after this hectic season.

I have never taken part in an ATART before. I must admit, I find it a little intimidating, lol. But I will hang around and think about it!!!

Lovely to see all of you bookmarking and lurking.
For those new to ATARTs - the suggested themes for each day are just that - suggestions. If your Muse wants to go in a completely different direction- GO FOR IT!
If you want to start on Thursday’s theme, then go back to Monday’s, then go rogue with a new theme (I am always looking for new ideas) - GO FOR IT!
There are no rules, except TO HAVE FUN!

Lurking--I have never done it before, sounds like fun.
Question: I am a slow artist--what if I don't finish my card on day specified what happens then?

I do know how you feel. I felt that way a long time ago. I was not sure I even understood the concept. But I think once you see that we are just creating and sharing and trading you will have so much fun.

I have started a card one day and didnt get it done til maybe the next or the next. It isn't a big deal. It is really very low pressure. Just creating and sharing and trading.
