For this swap, we are creating lovely flower dolls from fake flower pedals, floral wire, embroidery thread, and other fun elements of your choosing! You may turn them into fairies by adding wings made from feathers, leaves from a fake floral stem, lace, felt… let your imagination go wild! For hair, use embroidery thread, wool yarn, doll hair, ribbons… anything will work. Dolls may be with or without a face… two dots for eyes with lashes and a heart on her cheek would be darling, but completely up to you!

Players are encouraged to add a loop so the dolls may hang, or provide something to sit or stand on.
Remember, they are made from wire and can be posed! It’s ok if their arms are straight out, but they may be bent, hands on their hips, or even hold items! You may embellish by adding crowns, flowers in the hair, sparkle beads on the waist… there are so many things to do! All giving the dolls their own unique personality. (Please make sure all embellishments are secured.)

IMPORTANT: Include a bio card for each doll. Give her a name. Include hobbies, where she is from (some magical land?), what she loves/dislikes, favorite foods, dreams, anything else you think of. Have fun with this! Maybe she’s sweet? Maybe she’s a wild child or drama queen? Maybe has a magical power? Let us know!

I found a great video on YouTube containing step by step detailed instructions -->Click Here<--
Search “flower fairy doll wire” on Google or Pinterest for more inspiration -->Click Here<--
~Let me know if there are any questions~

Here is a basic list of supplies I use (for 1 doll):
    • 1 - White floral wire (cloth covered), 18” long, 20 or 22 gauge (I purchased mine from Hobby Lobby floral department)
    • 1 – Round wooden bead (for head), Ύ” with 1/8” hole/opening (I purchased a large bag on Amazon)
    • Silk/fake flowers – I buy various flowers and colors. Look for great deals on sale or in the clearance section. It’s fun to mix and match to make petals from different flowers. I usually use at least 3 layers
    • 3 Embroidery thread – 1 for skin tone, 1 for clothes, 1 for hair
    • Hot glue gun, sharp scissors, needle nose plyers (to help bend wire if needed), tape measure/ruler
    • Optional: Embellishments

When using these supplies, the finished doll will be around 4"- 6" long. I discovered most of mine are closer to 6".

Send dolls you are proud of. Make sure to sign each piece with your username (directly on the piece or attach a tag/label).

    Mailing:
Remember, the swap end date is March 1st, this is the date the dolls must be in my hands.
Wrap each piece individually and place in a secured bubble envelope or box with bubble wrap. If possible, I will reuse the same mailing materials.
Include a LARGE return address label. (Please make sure it's readable)
Send a private message for my mailing address.
Once mailed, make sure to let me know (in this thread) so I may keep a lookout.
Postage: Include the same amount of postage in US dollars. For US participants, this may be $5 (or more) depending on the package size. International participants may send payment for postage to my PayPal account (send a private message for info). Also, if the cost of postage makes it difficult to join, please private message me.

Rep and iTrader: Please make sure to show gratitude by leaving rep points for the art received (you rock button) and an iTrader for me, your hostess.

Extra postage or hostess gift is appreciated but not required.

I can’t resist, this looks so fun! I had a question about the height, then I read “around 4””. I had been thinking maybe 3”-6”, so that’s perfect. Love the ideas of creating back-stories and names (I always name things - LOL). Thanks for those wonderful picture examples!

I can't resist another doll swap, especially with the Hostess-with-the-Mostess, Miss Fame!! And guess what, I saw this swap earlier today and have just finished my 4 dolls!! SOO MUCH FUN!!!! Sorry I didn't post pics, but my scanner doesn't scan 3D items and my phone takes horrible photos.

Miss Fame - I'll pop them in the mail next week!

    Welcome☆•*¨*•.ΈΈΈ.•*¨*•☆

OH my goodness! We have the lovely SunTrade and Mcgillisj joining us! Thank you ladies!!

By the way, SunTrade is the inspiration for this fun swap. She created flower fairies for my Winter Holiday swap! I thought they were brilliant and needed their own special swap & here we are now.
    Aren't these sweet?

Our lurkers lounge is open! Hopefully Ferretgirl and Notinkansas will be able to join. Give it a try and share how they turned out.

Is anyone else having issues opening the Pinterest embedded "click here" link from post #1? I double checked and it's the correct link. Not sure what is wrong.

I wish I could figure this one out. In Pinterest, search Flower Fairy Doll, this will give some inspiration.

Thank you so much Bluesky for joining!

I have seen some amazing pieces made from felt and wool. Even lifelike animals. Someday I wouldn't mind giving this a try.
