THE ROARING TWENTIES, Due March 20, 2020

There were some classic children's books written in the 20's. My first card is a tribute to "The Velveteen Rabbit", written in 1922 by Margery Williams, illustrated by William Nicholson. My 2nd card is a flapper girl with her cat.

Fashion of the 1920's was exemplified by the "Flappers".
The term "Flapper" refers to women of the 1920's who
wore short skirts, bobbed their hair, listened to Jazz
and flaunted their disdain for what was considered
acceptable behavior.

Flappers were seen as brash for wearing excessive
makeup, driving automobiles, and flaunting
social, sexual, hair style, and fashion norms.
The 20's were called "The Dangerous Generation"

Flappers defied convention with their clothes,
hair, feathered headbands and dance moves.
Two famous flappers even risked dancing the
Charleston on a Chicago rooftop.
