Quick, sign me up. This is the "poke" I need to finally try the Seth Apler Embossing Powders I have had for at least a year.

That’s the “something new” I would be trying, Melissa - paint pouring. I tried it once before, and it wasn’t thin enough to really get it moving around well. I think I was afraid of getting it too runny. Anyway, right now I’m just lurking, but hope to sign up soon.

I looked up Seth Apler Embossing Powders, I have something like that or maybe it is even that brand. My local Scrapbooking store demonstrated it and I bought some. BUT I was not successful in using them, and not sure why I didnt get the same results. I might pull this out again and try to make them work.

I'd like to sign up. I haven't tried hand painting a smaller surface before.

Melissa, have you heard of a paint brand called Arteeza (not sure of the spelling). I see on Pinterest that they offer a special paint just made for paint pouring. You don’t have to add water, white glue, or any other additives. I might want to try it, but I would like to be sure I was going to use this technique enough to justify the purchase.

I have heard of them! I bought some color pencils and brush markers from them a while back. I have the pouring medium (which I purchased a year ago)... I just have to take the plunge!!

Okay, I've finished my cards. I had fun trying 4 new techniques:

Try Something New 2 Swap - Furry Friends.jpg
"Furry Friends" - color a stamped (or HD) image, cover it with glue and stick a used dryer sheet over it. cut it out after it dries. You kind of have to touch this card to get the full effect.

    Try Something New 2 Swap - Believe.jpg
"Believe in Your Dreams" - I tried something new for the background. I crinkled color diffusing paper, brushed over it with distress oxide inks then misted with water. I decided I liked the back of the paper better than the front. I smoothed it out and mounted it on watercolor paper.

Try Something New 2 Swap - Fall Birch Trees.jpg
"Fall Birch Trees" - yarn resist painting. see this link for details: https://thepinterestedparent.com/201...ree-paintings/

Try Something New 2 Swap - Hope Blooms.jpg
"Hope Blooms" - black magic technique. You stamp a mostly solid image with white pigment ink on dark cardstock. Color many layers with colored pencil and highlight with white gel pen.
I'm always up for a trade; let me know if you're interested!

AHC - thank you for posting some eye candy!! I love the yarn resist technique. I will have to give that one a try!

Mail Call: In my mail stack that I finally got through this afternoon I had new technique cards from BigBangMamma and artbymee! Thank you both for including an extra for me.

There is still plenty of time to join us in our trying new things! I am making my first chunkies this week - they are 4x4 pieces that are a bit heavier and have lots of wonderful embellishments. I am loving it!!

I also got started clearing off my big table so that I can try paint pouring. I WILL do it this time!!
