Just to let you know that I received my library cards today, thank you pancake machine. There are so interesting ones in there! Looking forward to working with them.
I've not been able to come on here so much recently. We've had a bit of a tough start to 2020 with my dad being diagnosed with cancer. Update - kidney removed; but several complications following operation causing the recovery road to be bumpy and fraught - but thankfully going in the right direction.

Ok, so I started working on my cards yesterday. I think I saw somewhere that it is okay to cut the text from the catalog cards and glue them to the swapping cards created.
IS this ok?? I hope so because I've already done it for 3 of my 4 cards....
Also, Pancake Machine, I love your Annie Kilburn card.

ok, nevermind. I saw the Plumhill did the same thing, so I guess I'm ok.
I'll post pics as soon as I'm done.

BluSkyHare, that’s what I’m doing too. One more to go, so I too hope it’s ok.

Yes - that is all perfectly fine! I've always maintained that the layout and typing are quite distinctive and mark it as coming from a card catalog. My most recent card is a tape transfer of the text onto a different paper. I've also ripped up cards before too.

Here's an example of mine from a previous swap where I do just that.
    40_image.jpeg

The swap has 2 requirements. 1) Has to be ATC sized. 2) should be able to tell, even faintly, that it came from a card catalog. So somewhere on the card you have to use either parts of the card catalog you received or have cut down the card and some of the text remains visible, even faintly.

You can definitely cut up the catalogue cards and use them how you see fit. I think the only requirement is that there is something recognizable of the catalogue card in the finished product.

I finished my last card this morning. Here's a link:

I had a lot of fun making these. In previous card catalog swaps I've always used the whole card, so these were super fun.
I used my original gelli prints (or photo copies of them), as backgrounds.

Fabulous cards. I'm loving your "Gathering at Greystone" especially!

Hi Pancake, good to see you! I'd like all default, but if it's a hassle, 3 random of the 6 is fine. I also have some leftovers, which I assume I can use.

    Yay!
