Woah, these last few days have been busier than I expected - so sad, I thought I'd get to play a bit more!
Here is what I've been able to get done in my little pockets of spare time:

    2020 August a-thon Home Sweet Home.jpg
Image from an adult colouring book - scanned, resized, printed on craft paper, then coloured using coloured pencils. This is one of the ones for challenge 1... it's been hanging around in my "unfinished" box for well over 2 years. ^^°

    2020 August a-thon Bouquet.jpg
Another image from an adult colouring book, this time printed on white paper and coloured with alcohol markers. Also years old and unfinished, as I had coloured in the yellow centers of the flowers and realised that the markers bled on this paper. Now I carefully worked around that problem... and fixed the rest with white gel pen.

    2020 August a-thon Love.jpg
I browsed through my favourite old encyclopedia for inspiration and found this painting, a self-portrait of the artist with her daughter. I loved the connection between them, the closeness. <3 This didn't scan too well, the little flowers and hearts are more vibrant in person.

    2020 August a-thon Tangled Shroom.jpg
Not too sure how I feel about this - I wanted to use my acrylic POSCA pens for tangling, but the paper was all wrong for the pens. :S They were also broader than I had expected, so they didn't allow for the type of precision or detail I usually like to give my tangles. But, challenge 2, zentangle!

I'll see what Sunday evening brings, maybe I'll be back with more later. Currently I feel like getting back into bed... it has been properly summer for the last couple weeks but the weather has turned and brought us autumn-esque storms and rain, and I just want to curl up with a mug of tea and a good book. ^^° I hope I can find some inspiration later.
    Hugs, Sarah

I am just horrified by the California forest fires, especially at Big Basin Redwood State Park, California, where I often picnicked with my family as a child.

I really want to remember Big Basin Redwoods State Park as it was when I was a child

Attachment 217696 ATART 16 Redwood Leaves and Cone (Sequoia sempervirens)

Attachment 217697 ATART 17 Banana Slug feeding on leaf. Banana slugs are often found in redwood forests. I can remember from Girl Scout camp finding a banana slug on the outhouse toilet seat. My friends and I spit toothpaste on it until it shriveled up and died!

I agree with you, Jo - horrified at what's happening and terrified at what's going to happen to our home state (I will always consider California my home, even though it's been 14 years since I lived there). As I look out the window right now, the smoke from all the fires is drifting into southern Oregon's Rogue Valley, giving me a headache, runny nose, and cough.

And here you've captured the beauty yet horror of it all in your paintings. Well done!

So sorry to hear your daughter isn't feeling well, Sanna. I hope she recovers quickly and that you don't get sick.

I have marked my "France" card as a traded but I cannot find a PM where someone would ask for a trade. Anyone? I have written down all other traded cards, with whom I have traded and when we have agreed to trade etc.

Feeling poorly, is on the form from my doctor I am seeing Wednesday. I thought of feeling poorly as a southern term or a British term. It made me chuckle. Of course I checked that box. Now I wonder if I admitted to have some illness I dont understand.

hmmm google had a lot to say, but I didnt not in general indicate some odd disease.
