Y'all... I started getting some random things in the mail a week or two ago. I thought it was odd, but didn't stop to really think it over for a bit because my entire world has been a bit upside down (and sideways) since the end of August, and quite honestly I haven't been able to think very clearly lately. My dad got sick around the end of August & I was burning the candle at both ends (& in the middle, too) taking care of him & his household along with mine & the busy season at work. I lost my mom back in 2012, so he was alone & needed a hand. Well... he was a lot sicker than he let on. We lost him in early November... and then 5 days later, I had a NSTEMI heart attack (SCAD: Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection), brought on by stress. They called it Broken Heart Syndrome.

To make a long story short, 2020 ended like a nightmare & I'm glad to see it gone. I'm most likely looking at getting an internal defibrillator implanted surgically soon because the damage to my heart looks permanent. 2021 is going to be all about slowing down & healing, whether I like it or not.

Thank you all for the thoughts & prayers & all of the sweet cards, art & bits of love. It really means a lot to me right now & brings a bit of light to my day (I do not sit still y'all, this is driving me NUTS!!!). I have a whole stack of envelopes here (now that it has dawned on me what I'm looking at LOL) & I'm slowly working my way through opening them.
