Cheezyblasters - your beautiful cicadas arrived yesterday. I just love the bright bold colors that you used.

Thank you so much! I used the Jane Davenport Brush pens! Glad they got there - they definitely took a while from the UK!

jo.on.the.go - did I use the right type of envelope etc? It was my first time posting!

Cheezyblasters: Everything about your cards, envelope, and packaging was just fine. I am not particularly picky. Some people insist on business-sized envelopes but anything that gets the cards here is okay. I think that some hostesses prefer the larger envelopes because cards can be mailed without stacking, which may cause an extra postage charge because thicker envelopes cost more to mail. Also, my post office checks to see if the envelope is "bendy"; if it is too rigid it won't go through the automated sorting machines and may cost more to mail. Another thing I learned from experience is that perfectly square envelopes require extra postage in the US - I don't know why. Again, it may have something to do with the sorting machines.

I like to provide return postage for international players to encourage them to join my swaps; their postage can be much more than US postage. And I like to provide the return envelopes because requiring artists to include envelopes just makes their mailings to me thicker and heavier, whereas my providing envelopes doesn't cost me much.

I will have to look for Jane Davenport Brush pens. I like the effect they create.

I finished my cards and finally got some sleeves to put them in. They’re going out in the mail today!725C8671-26D4-4FFF-967C-1A67D6157189.jpg725C8671-26D4-4FFF-967C-1A67D6157189.jpg

I had a little trouble finding your address though. Did you already PM it? I’m a noob and still learning my way around this platform. Thanks and I’m excited to see the cards in a few weeks!

And I did it...my cards are done. It turned into a personal challenge to go outside my comfort zone.
I like my finished cards and I hope they will arrive on time.
The bottom horizontal cicada card was from the tutorial recommended by plumhill.
They are packaged and in the mailbox.

I missed today's mail pickup, so the returns will go out tomorrow.

I want to thank everybody for the hostess cards - I identified the cards I picked on a sheet of paper enclosed with your returns. It was hard to choose! Thanks also to those who included extra postage. It just required one Forever stamp for each return, so if you provided extra postage I returned the stamp to you.

But most of all I want to thank you for your enthusiasm and the comments you made about each other's cards. I used those comments to help me decide which cards to give to each artist.
