I'm sending you all a private message, so BOLO (be on the lookout!)
-
I've been lurking to see when/where you meet - if it's drivable from MTL and the border restrictions are lifted I might join in : )

I’d be interested in taking a trip up to PA for this. It should be about a 4 hour drive for me, and much cheaper than the urban sketching workshops I’ve been eyeing, but very similar in terms of getting together with like minded people and making new friends.

Awesome Aifrati! I didn't have you on my p.m. list, but it sounds as if you have the info already. If that's the case, please let me know; otherwise I will forward it to you directly.

There used to be a yearly meet and play but it stopped even before the pandemic I think due to lack of interest. I live in Ohio but would travel to it depending on where it is if we started up again. I will do some research and get back with the group. I know they used to do goodie bags and people that could not attend would send in items for the bags!

BlancoLobo, we are currently looking at a crafting retreat center in the Lehigh Valley of PA. It's called The Nut House. Check it out online and let me know what you think! I've gotten some positive responses and we may have 5 or 6 serious responses at this point, but I think we would need at least 10 to book it. It's very reasonable and looks great!
-
The NutHouse is closer for me. Only weekends I can’t do are May 14 and June 18. If everyone prefers TheQuilters Inn I would still go. I have been to many retreats with a group of artists on the west coast and we always make something for each participant. We also do goodie bags and we talk about different challenges that we’ll do when we are all together, for example, goddes folks, candlestick dolls, cork hangers, things with wings, etc.

I love all your ideas about goodie bags, challenges etc. We should definitely do that! The Quilters Inn is a better choice as far as private rooms, and as I have been discussing with a few others, we could book it with 8 people, pay a little extra, and have our own rooms. The Nut House is closer for me too but I wouldn't mind the extra drive just because it might be better suited to our preferences.
-
I like the private room option better, but is not a deal breaker for me. The Quilter’s Inn is also closer to me in Southern Maryland than the other, but just by 30 minutes (3.5 or 4 hr drive; likely more).
-
For everyone's info, I spoke with The Quilter's Inn about our craft and they have no problem with it!

The quilters inn has two houses across the street from each other. Nana's house looks a little smaller. They both look awesome! Unfortunately April and May are both bad months for me.

Any more news on this? Have we settled on a date?
-
I was just thinking about this - I still have to hear back from about 3 people. I'm worried that we don't have enough to book the house, which is a bummer. I'll get all my notes together and see what we have.
-
So it's a no-go for this year?

Have we given up on this?… i was looking forward to it. Maybe we can just get an Airbnb house for a smaller group?
