Well, I hope everyone's doing well this morning. It's chilly here but not too cold. You know that saying - "when it rains, it pours?" Well, it's been pretty rainy over here. Roof people came out, gave an estimate, tried to schedule work, emails got lost, had best friend send a text, now waiting some more. Car sprung a leak - probably power steering fluid - hubby was the only one who ever worked on the car (except smog check in CA) and now I have to find a repair shop. Called one and they don't work on 1994 cars. Called another today and they said to bring it in tomorrow between 8:30 and 9:00. Jack the black cat hasn't been feeling well off and on. I still don't have a lead on who can replace some of the siding and do some of the dry rot work, and the closet door in the office is off the track.
However, there is always a bit of sun or light (sometimes, as I tell folks, it's a sliver of a sliver of a sliver of a sliver). My office is getting better organized and I've opened up more space (without simply moving stuff to other areas of the house).
And the brightest part is the folks here at EAU, especially Mel, our faithful and wonderful hostess!
Have a lovely day.

Too funny Nicky! I don't know why but that tickled my funny bone and I actually LOL'ed!

Nicky & Dnewton, I'll get your beauties pined up! I was also thinking to turn around your pics...but after comment above, i don't have the heart to! <3
Trina, I wish I had connections with people in the biz of the things you need help with. Home repairs are not fun. ...I think I mentioned that we are building a backyard porch. My dad was here, on Thanksgiving, to show us how to build one. Although we were near completion, it's still not done...gah! A lot of it was due to rain and trying to get it to dry it out. However, now that we have all this fair weather, we have no excuse. Hoping to have it done tomorrow. On top of that, our bathroom faucet had a slow leak. I was going to change out the faucet myself...but found, after looking at it, I would have had to replace the hot and cold water supply shut off valves. i knew that we didn't have everything we needed so I decided to try another day. But the men in my house said nah...it's easy it'll be 10 minutes. (I assured them it would be way longer) So, yeah, that was last week. It's still not finished...and now have no cabinet doors too! LOL!
I have help, but my help usually ends up making things long and drawn out...and sometimes worse. (Palm smack to the forehead)
Door off the track? Don't worry Trina, I have the same problem. (and yeah, we "fixed" it years ago!) I feel like I would have to buy a whole new track system to make it work...but I don't dare mention it to anyone here.
Bravo on your spiffing up your diggs. I really do believe it's something that lifts one's mood. I'm sure it's got to be therapeutic for you. Hope that you are setting some time aside to maybe grab a coffee tea or meal with your BFF. Take care girlfriend. <3

Mel, thank you so much for your words. I'm not very good at waiting and that seems to be what I'm doing a lot of these days. Gah! The car's in the shop and hopefully will be out by Friday afternoon - leaks in power steering (at least I called that), heater, and rack and pinion hoses (good grief).
I've put my partner's EAU in the mail and am hoping the mail is swift!
Mel, the rain's put a halt to a lot of plans for sure. I'd love to see pics of the garden path when you do get it finished. Yeah, the closet door - ugghh. Oh, and water shutoffs are also on my list. I think that's why clearing space in the office is so important - it's one thing I can control - lol.

I have jury duty today. Gah. ...I know, it's suppose to be an honor to serve...but seeing as I'm serving my family everyday...I feel a little less honored. LOL!

May be an honour Mel, but I am so happy that we do not work with public jury duty in our law system.

I was lucky. I drove over to the court house got thru security. Went to check in, and the lady behind the desk asked if I was part of the 1pm pool. (Which I was) She said sorry, they just called us and said they no longer need your group so your service is complete. ...I tried not to look like I was too happy but I had one of those smiles that reach your eyes...I think I may have even been beaming with happiness! LOL! So, I was like "Oh, okay, bye!" ROFL!

Happy dance, Mel! I received my summons 3 days after my Bill died. I stressed and worried about it and finally called my doctor. He said, "It's your duty." I told him "I know it's my duty and I've never asked to be excused or anything, but this is a bit different right now." He did write a letter to excuse me for this year. I used to go to the courthouse when I was much younger and watch the trials. I was just fascinated by them. I've never actually been selected to serve. Mel, at some point, you'll be old enough that you won't have to serve! Imagine that!
By the way, my envie to LazyShadows, my partner this month, just got mailed today at the USPS. It was supposed to mail a week ago but with the car and other issues, it sort of got trapped under some other items. It's on its way and I hope she likes (loves) it!

Valentines might be interesting. Is there a place to get all addresses?

I'm all in for Valentines, Jazzie!
DNewton972, if Mel offers the option for Valentines, she'll provide the list of addresses. It's a lot of fun. I think February is often just 1:1 like other months and the option for Valentines (make one and send to everyone on the list).
