Valentine's Day ATART Feb 10-14

This ATART is open to everyone and every kind of level and types of art.

If you want to try something new but are worried you can't make enough for a swap - try it here!

If you have questions about a particular technique - ask here! There is sure to be someone who has tried it before, if not, I LOVE learning something new.

Start time (in MY time zone) 12.01am (JUST after midnight) on Thursday 10 February and end time 11.59pm (midnight) on Monday 14 February in the latest time zone, or thereabouts. . .

What we can do: ATCs, APCs, ATCoins (2.5" circle), Chunky lite pages (4" x4" with no heavy dangles), Inchies (1" x1"), Twinchies (2" x2"), Moos (1" x2.75"), tags, shaped cards (houses, arches, etc) or whatever type of art your Muse calls you to create.

All mediums are welcome: collaging, sewing, painting, drawing, digital, napkins (with or without beeswax), washi tape, photographs, beading. . .

All styles are welcome: zentangles, stamps (postage and rubber), stickers. . .

And, of course, we can trade

OPTIONAL CHALLENGES FOR THIS ATHON:
Thursday: HEARTS
What can you do with a heart? Use it as itself and make a mandala of them OR turn them into butterfly wings or leaves OR fill a heart shape with: zentangles, iris folding, collage, HD/HP designs OR fill the card with heart tangles (heart tangles) OR. . .

Friday: LOVE
use rubber/postage stamps with hearts/love/roses OR show something/ someone/ somewhere you love (coffee, chocolate, animals, flowers/ people, family/ places you have been or wish to go)

Saturday: COLOUR
make your cards monochrome using traditional colours of red, white and pink OR avoid these colours completely OR add washi tape/ ribbon/ glitter (glue, embossing powder, paper)/ transparencies/ Alcohol inks

Sunday: SIZE MATTERS
try making something that is NOT an ATC (see the top of this post for various sizes) OR try making a card that moves (having something that opens or adding a pocket is easiest)

Monday: VALENTINE'S DAY
Make a traditional Valentine's card OR make it snarky OR show us Cupid (or someone filling in for Cupid)

What IS an ATART?
It's an All Types of ART marathon where you can create art, done over the same time in each time zone. This thread will be our craft room.

How it works:
Start creating art when it's time to start, then upload your lovely creations to your Athon Gallery and post to the thread. Trading and chatting are going on all the time as people are awake in different time zones.

How to ask for a trade:
When you see a piece of art you would like to trade, please SEND A PERSONAL MESSAGE (PM) to the person asking for a trade. Please DO NOT post requests for trades to the thread - it can get way too confusing and may be missed in all the chatter.

NOTE: when you do make a trade, please be sure to send it to your trade partner within 2 weeks. If you're running late, communicate!!

HOW TO POST YOUR ART TO THE THREAD:
From your atcsforall.com gallery
It's easiest to have 2 windows open
1) Go to your Gallery and right click on the picture you wish to post - this brings up a menu that includes "Copy image"
2) Click on this
3) Go to your post in the thread and hit Paste (Ctrl V)
4) This allows you to add 10 images to your post
OR
Thumbnails (only 5 of these can be attached to a single post)
1) at the bottom of a new post in a thread there is a 'Go advanced' button - click on this
2) you will be taken to a new window, which will still show anything you have already written. In the top line of commands there is a paper clip - put your cursor over this and it will come up with the label 'Attachments'
3) left click on the paper clip and a 2nd new window will appear
4) click on ADD FILES at the top and then click BROWSE. This will allow you to browse your computer and choose the image you wish to upload.
5) click the DONE button in the bottom right of this screen - the images you have chosen will appear at the bottom of your post.
6) if you want to attach them in your post, click on the INSERT INLINE button instead.

NEW TO ATARTS?
If you have any questions at all, feel free to PM me or post your questions to the thread. We have a lot of experienced art-a-thoners who are more than willing to help those of you new to this craziness.

IMPORTANT: REMEMBER TO PUT YOUR USERNAME ON THE BACK OR YOUR CARDS. You can't get an iTrader if your trading partner down't know who you are.

I am so excited for the pm and link. I have it listed in my phone's calendar. I started collecting some items that might lend itself to the art a thon. Heart things, lace, etc, and getting my chip boards cut the correct size.

See you all on the 10th.

When it is the 10th in AU, it will be only the 9th in AZ. Just so you know, I have to get my teeth cleaned on the 9th and later that day I have an appointment with a doctor, that is 1/2 hour drive away. I am sure most of my day will be shot.

But after that, I am all yours.
