St Pat's Day ATART March 10-14, 2022
This ATART is open to everyone and every kind of level and types of art.
If you want to try something new but are worried you can't make enough for a swap - try it here!
If you have questions about a particular technique - ask here! There is sure to be someone who has tried it before, if not, I LOVE learning something new.
Start time (in MY time zone) 12.01am (JUST after midnight) on Thursday 8 March, 2022 and end time 11.59pm (midnight) on Monday 14 March in the latest time zone, or thereabouts. . .
What we can do: ATCs, APCs, ATCoins (2.5" circle), Chunky pages (4" x4"), Inchies (1" x1"), Twinchies (2" x2"), Moos (1" x2.75"), tags, shaped cards (houses, arches, etc), postcards (4" x6") or whatever type of art your Muse calls you to create
All mediums are welcome: collaging, sewing, painting, drawing, digital, napkins (with or without beeswax), washi tape, photographs, beading. . .
All styles are welcome: zentangles, stamps (postage and rubber), stickers. . .
And, of course, we can trade.
OPTIONAL CHALLENGES FOR THIS ATHON:
Thursday: all things green OR monochrome
Friday: sheep OR shamrocks (remember these are NOT 4 leaf clovers - they only have 3 sections. St Pat used them to explain the Holy Trinity - 3 separate things that make up 1 whole) OR celebrations
Saturday: Celtic knots (examples of various knots, an easy celtic knot zentangle) OR potato prints (in honour of the humble potato - staple food of the Irish). This means that you cut the design into the potato, cover it with paint and then use it as your stamp - lots of fun, and messy!
Sunday: the 'little people' and all things associated with them (leprechauns, rainbows, pots of gold) OR 'little art' - Inchies, Twinchies, Moos
Monday: a 'bit of the blarney' (snarky, jokes, etc) OR found poetry OR complete your unfinished creations
What is an ATART?
It's an All Types of ART marathon where you can create art, done over the same time in each time zone. This thread will be our craft room.
How it works:
Start creating art when it's time to start, then upload your lovely creations to you Athon Gallery and post to the thread. Trading and chatting are going on all the time as people are awake in different time zones.
How to ask for a trade:
When you see a piece of art you would like to trade for, please SEND A PERSONAL MESSAGE (PM) to that person asking for a trade. Please DO NOT post requests for trades to the thread - it can get way too confusing and may be missed in all the chatter.
NOTE: when you do make a trade, please be sure to send it to your trade partner within 2 weeks. If you're running late, communicate!
Want to compliment an artist:
And you will. . . remember you can click the You Rock button and leave your compliment/comment there.
HOW TO POST YOUR ART TO THE THREAD:
From your atcsforall.com gallery
It's easiest to have 2 windows open.
1) Go to your Gallery and right click on the picture you wish to post - this brings up a menu that includes 'Copy image'
2) Click on this
3) Go to your post in the thread and hit Paste (Ctrl V)
4) This allows you to add 10 images to your post.
OR
Thumbnails (only 5 of these can be attached to a single post)
1) at the bottom of a new post in a thread there is a 'Go advanced' button - click on this
2) you will be taken to a new window, which will still show anything you have already written. In the top line of commands there is a paper clip - put your cursor over this and it will come up with the label 'Attachments'
3) left click on the paper clip and a 2nd new window will appear.
4) click on ADD FILES at the top and then click BROWSE. This will allow you to browse your computer and choose the image you wish to upload.
5) click the DONE button in the bottom R of this screen - the images you have chosen will appear at the bottom of your post.
6) if you want to attach them in your post, click on the INSERT INLINE button instead
NEW TO ATARTS?
If you have any questions at all, feel free to PM me or post your questions to the thread. We have a lot of experienced art-a-thoners who are more than willing to help those of you new to this craziness.
IMPORTANT: REMEMBER TO PUT YOUR USERNAME ON THE BACK OF YOUR CARDS. You can't get an iTrader if your trading partner doesn't know who you are.

Lurking for now. This sounds fun!!!
-
Oh, and thanks for the invite
-
And the ATART is officially open!!
I won't be able to play as much as I had hoped as my husband has just told me that we will be flying down to Melbourne for the next week - this has not been possible for the last 2 years. My daughter has built a brand new house during this time, with a room just for interstate visitors to stay in - we will be christening it.
Back soon with some cards that I started a little earlier
-
Thank you for the invitation, and have a good trip.!
-
Hurray! Due to time differences across the globe, I will be able to participate for two days!
This will be my third ATART (I sadly missed the Postage Stamp ATART due to overcommitments)
I will be making cards today and tomorrow, then my husband and I (Gma and Gpa) are is to Universal Studios with three grandsons, son, and daughter-in-law. I MAY check in to SEE the art, but I won't be making any new art.
Today's plan: gelli print with green!
Green shamrock doodles, of course.
A green collage???

Here are my first few cards - I found these die cuts when I was looking for celtic knot resources. I think they turned out well

Nice start, Donna!
Grandsons are 14, 10, and 7. Middle one is a big Harry Potter fan so it should be a great time! (Thanks for asking! 8->

So pretty, Donnacr! I am loving the color green after a very long winter here! You are still enjoying Summer and getting ready for Fall, correct ?
