I'll see if I can scrounge up something to make. May not be on theme, but who knows what I'll find in my pile o'stuff.

I'll start with a quote: "An Irishman is never drunk as long as he can hang on to one blade of grass and not fall off the face of the earth".
Edited to add that this was a green linen hanging bought by my ex - who has been ex for 4 decades. I found it the other day in a box of stuff. I'm doing my darnedest to clear out old crap in boxes that have been in the storage closest for a few decades.

We need a shamrock emoji. lol

    What I am Working On....

I am still playing with my Cricut. Oddly, I could not find a good three-leaf clover design in the freebies. (at 99 cents each, I am simply NOT going to start buying SVG files from Cricut!) So this three-leaf clover was made by "welding" together three hearts and a rectangle.

This is not yet a final design, but I just love the concept of changing patterns with a cutout.
Right now, the patterned pieces slip in from the bottom and right sides. I think a neat and tidy pocket would be better.

    Back to the drawing board!

I do SO love a good ATART. Play. Play. Play. Play. Play!!!!

I went to the PO yesterday. I am posting this here because, I wonder if anyone else has run it to this?

I needed to mail an envelope to Donnacr, in Australia, that was over 1 ounce. I didn't have all the correct stamps. So the letter went with me, to get some help.

I was told that AU wont accept any envelopes over 1 ounce at this time. It has to be mailed as a package. And that was really expensive, and needed paperwork.

I was able to get the extra postage for Sniisk, that was over one ounce , as well. No issues with Finland.
So I brought the envelope back and need to re package it so it is lighter than 1 ounce. Sorry Donnacr.

My interpretation of the first task is based in the Johnny Cash song "Forty Shades of Green". I've been thinking of all of the beautiful GREEN landscapes in Ireland.

"Again I want to see and do
The things I've done and seen.
Where the breeze is sweet as Shalimar,
And there's forty shades of green"

Attachment 230178 ATART 1 TRADED Killary Fjord Lake, Leenane, Connemara, Ireland. The fjord is on the west coast of Ireland. The lake is about 10 miles long. This is a lovely place to hike; I hiked along the fjord on my first trip tp Ireland.

Attachment 230179 ATART 2 Gleniff Horseshoe Drive, Sligo, along Donegal Bay, Ireland

Attachment 230180 ATART 3 Irish Countryside near Glencolumokille, County Donegal, Ireland.

Attachment 230181 ATART 4 TRADED Moll's Gap, Killarney, County Kerry, Ireland. Moll's Gap is a mountain pass on the road from Kenmare to Killarney. It is named for Moll Kissane, the landlady of an infamous illegal small pub. Today the pub is a respectable teahouse where I had tea on my first trip to Ireland.

I solved the problem by doing two envelopes. It is $2.42 for other countries if it is over an ounce, and $1.30 for under an ounce so just pennies different. Funny thing was the second envelope was over because of the weight of the greeting card, I used. I pulled out some of the extras, I was sending Donnacr and it was .9. Off in the mail tomorrow.

Some more green landscapes, and some castles. I always thinks of castles in Ireland.

Attachment 230182 ATART 5 Aran Islands #1 The Aran Islands are three rocky islands off the coast of Galway Bay, in western Ireland. When first settled, the islands were totally rocky. People moved the rocks by hand and formed a network of stone fences from the rocks. They built up soil by carrying up seaweed from the beaches and placed it upon the rocks. The Irish language (Gaelic) is still spoken here.

    Attachment 230183 ATART 6 Aran Islands #2

Attachment 230184 ATART 7 TRADED Kinbane Castle, County Antrim, Northern Ireland, between Ballycastle and Ballintoy. The name comes from the Irish for "White Head" referring to the limestone on the promontory.

Attachment 230185 ATART 8 Greencastle, County Donegal, Ireland. The nearby villages takes its name from the 14th C castle.

I hope I'll have more for today, but I'm not sure. I'm feeling kind of cruddy, though I double-checked and made sure I didn't have Covid again. (My doctor told me I had a 99% of *not* getting it for three months, but I don't trust that because I've been known to get the flu twice the same flu season <and in the same month> so...)

I'm still sorting through, looking for green stuff (and maybe Irish stamps) but for now I just went with a bit of green plus spring.

Tomorrow I may try potato prints. I'd totally forgotten about those!

Finland and Australia are so different - in the obvious ways and with regard to receiving cards from the US. For Donnacr it was a simple matter for me to pack cards into two lighter-weight envelopes. Something heavier counted as a package and wasn’t acceptable. For sniisk I tried to get a customs form. Because the customs form is a large sheet of paper, the guy said that my little envelope would need to be exchanged for a large envelope that would then be considered a package. I was advised just to mail the small envelope to Finland with no customs form and “see how it goes”. It went successfully.
I don’t understand the strange postal regulations but the last time I mailed cards to Donnacr and sniisk, they received the cards.

This is what I have been struggling with several months now. I need to fill in a customs declaration form electronically if I want to mail even a little envelope to the US. I haven't faced any problems with Australia yet. But I spent 2.5 hours by filling in those forms after our previous a-thon and I didn't make that many trades.

    My first.... and ONLY... set

I want to make more cards today.
But I have cleaning and packing and exercising to do.
I cannot let myself get carried away today.
But I WILL let myself check in and admire the art for the rest of the ATART.

    #1 Simple Pocket Card
Cricut cutout on plastic, mounted on heavy cardstock on top and left. Three interactive prints can be chosen to 'feed' in from bottom right. Simple concept. Fun to make.

    #2: Green Doodle: Leaves
Green marker on heavy cardstock. Fun to make while listening to a TV show....

#3: Oops! ATC Hint 404 TRADED

I had a lovely background mounted on colored cardstock, ready to add text and images. I left it on the paper cutter. I put something else on top. I (later) cut the something else... and also my background....

    #4: Pocket Card with Microjournal

Felt background, Cricut cutout fastened to needlepoint canvas and sewn to felt, acrylic paint over the vinyl because there were bubbles, micro journal in the pocket

    #5 Green Mixed Media. TRADED

Gelli print background, Cricut cutouts, acrylic paint, scrapbook cutout, gel pen

    #6 Green Scene. TRADED

Alcohol marker on Yupo, mounted on two layers of cardstock.

    AND:
If anyone wants a copy of the micro journal for this ATART, here is the link:

    https://www.instructables.com/Micro-...ith-Minizines/

Scroll down to the last step.
(I will include a copy with each trade)

I hope to join the fun this afternoon!

Last time I mailed to Australia and USA was after the Valentine Atart. My envelopes are mostly over 1 ounce and I had no problems. All the envelopes found there way to my trading partners.
International Envelopes cost 26 Swedish Crowns, that is 2.7 USD.
