Woo-hoo! Sneaking a few in before work:
21) tell us how did you find this forum, why did you join etc. (2p)
I learned about ATCs after watching a Courtney Cerruti video on CreativeBug in 2021. I went in search of places to swap ATCs, and kept looking until I found one that wasn't run through social media (I use social media but prefer swaps run in an organized manner from a website), and that was open to newbies (new to swaps and new to art). I like the stable AFA forum with the wealth of information from years of running swaps. I'm so happy I found AFA!
17) give an art challenge in the thread
Finish something you started and abandoned
Sniisk - I have a question about #30 - use someone else's style - is that someone else in the challenge or someone else as in a known artist like Frida Kahlo, or could it be either? Thanks.

good morning ATARTers
It’s morning coffee time, and for me, you know that also means ATC time. As usual I’ll have limited time to give to this athon but I hope do more than visit and share my non-athon projects this time. So, my goal, and YOUR CHALLENGE (especially if you are a limited time type, like me) is…
Complete 1 card (or whatever art format fits the challenge) each day of the Challenge Hunt that includes as many points as possible!
Remember this “You can count max three tasks in one creation but remember to mention all of them.”
#17 give an art challenge in the thread

Oh, my bad, unclear instructions, as always... I was thinking of someone here in AFA.

My friend, Paula, and I were on another website that merged into, AFA. I can not remember that site's name. If I looked at the back of the cards, someone might have posted it. I have come a long way since then. It seemed like to me that every atc group that my friend Paula and I joined, closed up. Like we were jinxed. She did not join this site when it merged.

I've been an active swapper, crafter and collector for some time. I was already part of some crafting Facebook groups and learned about what ATC were. I thought it was a really cool concept, so I joined some swap groups specific to ATCs and started making and trading them. Then I wondered, is there a place that is just specific to ATCs, like a forum, that might offer conversation and trading. A quick google search and here I am!

Love swapping! Mostly HD/HC with art pencils + some Mixed Media.

Hello everyone
Task 1 - new creation
Task 12 - found poetry
Attachment 232426 ATART # 01
Task 21: I´ve been quilting for years and joined several Yahoo-groups for block-swaps. Then we started to swap fabric postcards and ATCs, too. That way I learned about ATCs. At some point I thought it would be nice to get back into drawing and painting, so I searched online for a forum that was open to all kinds of ATCs and voilà, I stumbled over AfA

Sadly, the end of my coffee time draws near. Here’s what I have going on…
Attachment 232427
The card on the right is not complete, but I hope to have time to finish it this afternoon or evening. I’m working toward a #1, 44, 47 combo with 3 stickers, ribbon, confetti and stamped image
The card on the left is a potential candidate for somnia’s challenge
Is anyone else hearing in their head “CHALL - ANGE!” ? I think it’s from some film, I can’t recall…
sniisk- for #1, will that be counted in 24 hour increments from the start time?

You can count them how ever you like. I count my days from midnight to midnight. There are practically six days in this a-thon because of the time zones.

Good day, everyone! I'm sipping my first cup of tea and pondering the challenge list.
21) I stumbled into a local journaling group around 2004, and one of the members introduced me to ATCs. She invited me to the local ATC group, and also told me about swapbot, which got me started trading online. At one of those monthly ATC gatherings I met Janni, who told me about ArtCards - the precursor to AtcsforAll. I joined and traded there, and followed to ATCSforAll because that was becoming my community. I've been here since AFA began in Feb 2008. The first athons here were collage-a-thons, and that morphed into other types of a-thons. Seriously, creating with artists all over the world over a couple of days. How cool is that? And then all other types of athons, and then All Types of Art A-thons, and here we are today! The end of the story and the beginning of another fun athon.
