I have a story to share.
I asked my kids to accompany me to the thrift store and clearance section at Michael's to find some fun bits to inspire me for this swap. We started out with a lunch together. We sat outside under a big roof at the restaurant and watched it downpour rain for a good half hour. It was so peaceful and we had a nice time chatting. When we got back to the car, imagine our surprise when we realized I had left my sun roof open!!! The standing water in my car has finally all been shop-vacced and dried in the sun. Round II on that inspo shopping trip, kids?! Hahaha!
    Talk about spooky!

Oh, locatray - rain through your sunroof! Your story reminds me of a time when I friend of mine came to visit and parked her car on the street in front of my house. She left a window partially rolled down and when she got back to her car, someone had put a hose through the window and run water into her car. When she opened the door, all this water came gushing out. Glad to hear you got the water shop-vac'd and got some sunshine on it!

Wow! This was just Mother Nature getting me as a natural consequence. The person who got your friend is just mean! That would be awful!! Zoinks!

Thanks for the shares! Nancy, I hope whoever did that hose maneuver gets a big dose of karma right back at them. What a mean and dumb thing to do to someone.

Laura, I love that you are getting your kiddos involved in your art sourcing. Such an unpleasant surprise to realize your car was being soaked while you enjoyed your lunch! I had a similar experience. It rarely rains in sunny SoCal, so I leave my sunroof open during the warm months to let the hot air out. A couple years back, I went to a local yoga class and was a newbie among this group of mostly retirees (I was trying to squeeze in a session before work.) We were all spread out on our yoga mats doing our deep breathing meditation when it started to rain and I realized that I had left my sunroof open. So, I quietly raced out and to my car...my flip flops flapping as I ran to go close the car up. And then I had to quietly try to sneak back in and down to my CALM position, dripping rainwater all the way. SO RELAXING, hahahaha!

Whoever invented the ShopVac deserves all the good karma. Those things are life-changing!

Here's one from me: I can still smell that wonderful aroma of a 1970's plastic pumpkin filled with delicious trick-or-treating candy. My childhood pumpkin inspired this piece. That's me in the Tweety costume (all but the mask was handmade by my talented original art muse: my Mom.)

Thanks, dearies. I was a big Tweety fan back in those days. I still have the felt tail of that costume in my storage. I'm a nostalgic saver type.

I love that you have a photo of you in a childhood costume! My grandmother made me an orange and black clown costume - one half was black and the other half was orange with a big clown ruffle around the neck - to be honest, I hated that costume but she made it big enough that I had to wear it for about 3 years. I probably could have worn it right through high school. LOL! Now I wish I had a picture of that costume - she did a wonderful sewing job!
