    I FINALLY found the quarter with the bat on it. It came out in 2020, and I have been getting tons of quarters at the Laundromat, but although I go through the quarters on at a time, I have not been able to get a bat quarter until now.

    The reverse (tails) design depicts a Samoan fruit bat mother hanging in a tree with her pup. The image evokes the remarkable care and energy that this species puts into their offspring. They are endangered.
    The design is intended to promote awareness to the species’ threatened status due to habitat loss and commercial hunting. The National Park of American Samoa is the only park in the United States that is home to the Samoan fruit bat.

    .....Senior Citizen's Day celebrates
    Senior Citizens, the elderly, and the
    VERY Elderly
    ....In this age of politically correct
    terminology, "Senior Citizens" offended
    the youngest group who had just become
    seniors. Although they LOVED the
    discounts on clothes and crafts, and at
    restaurants, "senior" made them feel old.
    .....This Holiday was renamed to a "more
    respectful" nomenclature, "International
    Day for the Elderly"
    .....Unfortunately, this new name now
    offended a new group, that group being
    the older Seniors, because "Elderly"
    made them feel weak, incompetent,
    infirm, worthless, or so it was
    stated in their petitions requesting change.
    .....So the day was renamed again as
    "International Day of OLDER PERSONS".
    After all, everyone is older than
    someone else, and we are all people.
