End of Summer / Back to School ATART August 25 to 30, 2022
This is the official thread for the End of Summer / Back to School ATART! We’re creating art beginning 12:01am Thursday August 25 (earliest time zone) through 11:59pm Tuesday August 30 (latest time zone). Or maybe a bit longer?
What is an ATART?
It's an All Types of ART marathon where you can create art with fellow artists, at the same time in each time zone. This thread will become our craft room.
How it works:
Start creating art when it's time to start, then upload your lovely creations to your Athon Gallery and post them to the thread. Trading and chatting are going on all the time as people are awake in different time zones.
How to ask for a trade:
When you see a piece of art you would like to trade for, please SEND A PERSONAL MESSAGE (PM) to that person asking for a trade. Please DO NOT post requests for trades to the thread - it can get way too confusing and may be missed in all the chatter.
NOTE: when you do make a trade, please be sure to send it to your trade partner within 2 weeks. If you're running late, communicate!
If you want to compliment an artist - and you will - remember you can click the You Rock button and leave your compliment/comment there.
HOW TO POST YOUR ART TO THE THREAD
From your atcsforall.com gallery:
It’s easiest to have two windows open.
1) Go to your gallery and open the image you want to insert.
2) Copy the row with [IMG] codes. (copy is ctrl+c and paste is ctrl+v in Windows)
3) Go to your post and paste the copies [IMG] code.
5) and then you're done.
From your computer:
1. Click POST REPLY at the bottom of the messages screen. Above the message box, click the paperclip next to the smiley face. Then upload as usual. This will upload your picture as a thumbnail.
2. If you go into the Quick Reply box at the bottom of the messages screen, click GO ADVANCED and you will get the paperclip above the message box.
NEW TO Art A-Thons? If you have any questions at all, feel free to PM me or post your questions to the thread. We have a lot of experienced art-a-thoners who are more than willing to help those of you new to this craziness.
Optional Themes:
Hot August Nights
Dog Days of Summer
Harvest - Farm Stands - Fruits & Veggies
Late Summer Flowers
What I Did on Vacation / Where I went on Vacation
Back to School
Mushrooms
Optional Challenges:
Make different sized art than you usually create - inches, twinchies, moo cards, ATCoins, bookmarks, postcards, rollos, 4x4 art, 4x6 art, journal pages…

Looking forward to participating off and on (I've got weekend plans so I can't put in as much time as usual, but I'll still get something in there from time to time!)

I'm glad to see a few are able to play along!
Somnia, what type of mushrooms are you foraging?

I like your optional themes. Gives me some things to think about for what I might do. My favorite is "Dog Days of Summer" which makes me think my doggie stamps will be getting a lot of use this weekend. . .

We have a "sleep in a tent" night on Saturday. Half of this country will sleep in tents then. That may slow a bit of my participation here
. We will go to a park that is about 10 minutes drive away from us. There will be plenty of tents. And there will be a pop up a cafeteria for breakfast. And campfire. And there may be a thunderstorm but who cares. It will be fun anyway.

fundygirl, I don't think I have any stamps or images with dogs... I'm more a collector of cats.
Hmmmm... maybe I can morph to cat days of summer? lol
We don't have any pets now, but our neighbor across the street has two cats who come to visit occasionally. They are into sleeping out in the sun at the end of the driveway. Sometimes in the middle of the road! My husband grows catnip for them.

Sanna, that sounds like a bunch of fun!
We have similar sleep in a tent nights here. We've done the Great American Background Campout in the past, it's held at the end of June. It's easier to tent in the backyard, because I can come in and use my own bathroom. lol.

I love the idea of a country- wide sleep in a tent night, sniisk!
I’m afraid it will have to be cat days of summer for me too although I will search for some good dog images.

We are going to a park that means it's not in the middle of a nowhere. And because it's a public park, there are also public toilets. They will be open all night long. Normally they are closed during night time to avoid misuse.

I'm very much a dog person, but I have noticed that there are way more cat people on here, so I don't get to use my doggies as much as I'd like to. I recently got some new cat stamps that I've had fun doing, but my poor pups feel left out, so I think this time my subjects will be more dog-themed. Who knows, I might even find another dog person or two out there. . .

My husband has been talking about having a "camp out" in our backyard. Maybe we'll join you this weekend. . .

Don't get me wrong, I like dogs and most seem to like me. There are a lot of dog folks so please make the art the makes you happy. I've been known to trade for a card with a dog on it, just sayin'.

I'm definitely a dog person
. Allergy to cats may have something to do with it...

I haven't heard back from my mushroom foraging guide yet. I'll only forage with a guide. I'd love to find boletes, reishi, chicken of the woods, oyster mushrooms, really anything! Maybe at the very least I can work on some mushroom cards....
