Mini-articulated Paperdolls For Christmas (mail art), due Dec. 2
Due date: Dec. 2
Signup/withdrawal date: Nov. 26
Number of players: 15
Number of dolls: 3/3 or 5/5
Media: Cardstock and mini brads, light and flattish embellishments ok; hd/hp with inks, paints, markers, or pencils
I know it seems early for a Christmas theme, but 65-70 days takes us into a December due date!
This Swap is for hand-drawn and hand-painted articulated paperdolls, mini-size. No taller than 4”, so they fit into an ATC sleeve. Two articulation points, minimum. Our theme is Christmas, and it is very general and inclusive. Any subjects you can think of which would fit into categories of the North Pole, Traditional, or Victorian Christmas (Santa’s, Mrs. Santa, elves, snowmen, reindeer, gingerbread men, children, etc.).
But if you live live where there is no snowy Christmas, near the beach or in the desert, you might include Santa hats on starfish, seahorses, or Saguaro cacti! You might also take inspiration from Christmas music, like Little Drummer Boy, or My Favorite Things. Or what about cute forest animals? Lots of opportunities for creativity!
Do let me know if you would prefer only traditional Christmas themes in your returns. Please ask if you have any questions, and show us pictures of your finished creations.
A PERSONAL REQUEST FROM YOUR HOST: We know it is not mandatory to leave rep points for fellow artists who made your returns. But it is simply a matter of common courtesy that I consider important. Leaving iTrader for me as a Host is more about letting me know your returns have arrived safely. But the reps you leave for fellow artists is your way of showing them you appreciate the time and effort they put into your returns, especially in a Mail Art Swap. PLEASE DO PLAN TO LEAVE REP POINTS, I appreciate it!
GUIDELINES and MAILING:
- Please write your real name and username on the back of each doll.
- Provide me with an address label plus one Forever stamp and I will provide the envelopes.
-International players, please send address label with $1 or a Global Forever stamp.
- If you think your brads are too “chunky”, please send additional postage, and write “unmachinable” on the envelope.
- An extra Hosr paperdoll would be truly cherished, but is in no way necessary in order to play.
- Remember to leave iTrader for your host, and rep points for those who made your returns.

Hi CiCi For now I must rest in the lurkers lounge. I'm continuing to have issues with my wrist. Hopefully within the next month I'll see more improvement.
I certainly hope you do see more improvement and start to feel better! Don’t worry too much about this swap. I really want you to join, but there is still lots of time. Thanks so much for checking in.
Thank you for posting an example! I was having trouble with the 2 articulation points... but I was over thinking it. So these are really little and Christmas themed. I will sign up. This is a GREAT way for me to dip into the articulated artwork scene. Would love to see more!
Great, Melissa, I will sign you up! Yes, I’m sure we will see more as people start creating and posting their pictures. I’m still trying to think of other images to make into a paperdoll - maybe an elf painting a sailboat toy, a little girl with a new doll, Mrs. Santa with a tray of baked goodies, the Little Drummer Boy, etc. I am fine with duplications of a specific subject, like the ones I just mentioned, because we all know that artists each have their own interpretation and style, they will be different and fun to see. I also wanted to mention, as far as my height “rule”, if legs are jointed at the hip or even the knees, and can be folded back to behind the torso so they fit in the sleeve, that is perfectly acceptable. The doll itself will be taller than 4” when the legs are put into place. I hope this is clear. Welcome, Haagmm!
