Hi Questions First if the paper has been processed for other things can I use it? Also can I cut and not tear the paper?

all the edges of your paper has to be torn. Cut edges will send your cards back home to you. No you cannot cut the paper and not tear it.

Not sure what you mean processed for other things. The two kinds of paper that I would like to see are plain paper ( think origami, tissue, computer paper, mulberry paper, vellum, etc) and paper with words on it. The text can be foreign.

I find making torn paper abstracts so relaxing. I used to be more rabid about all the edges being torn. But I am going to excuse the ones left on paper edges.

I loved doing it - Did I use the correct paper or do I need to redo them? I do think you may have created a monster with this technique!

They're fine. This is one of my favorite ways to make art.

Leydab, your cards arrived. Thanks for the extra card.

By plain paper, do you mean solid or just not painted/gelliprinted/etc?

Papers I'm considering using, along with text:

    old maps
    patterned scrapbook and/or tissue paper
    sheet music
    patterned paper from security envelopes

    adding LindyLu and StregaAnna.

Cynthia, plain paper of any kind. that means maps, patterned scrapbook paper, sheet music will NOT work.
Think mulberry paper, origami (one color per square), envelope-insides ( I'm using those for my Christmas cards!)
Tissue paper, especially colored, vellum, and papers with words such as a book page.

Plain, meaning not painted or rubber stamped or drawn upon or any media added to it. I'm trying for paper with no patterns on it.

The next abstract torn paper swap will allow any kind of paper. But that is later. This is now.

StregaAnna, my swaps have no limit of players. I d not want to deal with a wait list.

I also offer to pay international postage. If you want to play, just sign up and you are in. However, do communicate and do send in cards. If you fail, you may receive a negative iTrader,

Ok, great. That helps. I'll put some of this stuff in the "later" pile.

This was a real challenge for me. For some reason I couldn't get my head wrapped around the concept. I almost quit but I'm stubborn so I slogged on. Hopefully, I have done it correctly.

    Thanks for the challenge, Nancy.
