All are painted paper backgrounds. Green of course. Red tag with faux stitching are the middle two. The mushrooms are cut from calendar. Checks are napkin, one hearts, and one red ink on green background.
This is my first time making inchies and they are HARD! LOL. Jezebelle, how did you get so much detail on yours?? Mine are coming along but don't have nearly as much detail!!! I'm trying!!
The inchies I made for this swap are the third set I’ve made. My first two sets (for others swaps/trades) were far less detailed.
I feel like materials make a difference in what you can accomplish , detail wise.
My first set was pigment liner and prismacolor pencils directly on chipboard (cereal box, or the like) Attachment 235902
For the second set, I used the same media but on paper (I can’t recall what type) and mounted them to the board Attachment 235903
This time I worked on paper. I laid down the red marker first, then added fine details on top with black ink, filled in the negative space with green marker (and tried to create some ‘texture’ while doing so), added the white details over that with gel pen, then tweaked whatever I needed to with more ink.
I also think that having made them a couple times now, gave me the confidence to go for something a bit more difficult.
Keep trying, I’m sure they’ll be great! Everybody has a first time.
Now I’m crazy about inchies, I wish there were more inchie swaps…
Mine are done. As I said before, I struggled some! I decided not to go with a theme but to make a red and green background and then see what the little pieces of red and green felt like to me. (This may have added to the difficulty and I probably wouldn't do that again! LOL!) But, I'm ok with what I produced for my first time making inchies. I think I *may* stay with the ATC size but we will see!!! Thanks for letting a newbie join you!!! (The one on the top left is supposed to be a paisley but no matter how I photographed them - they looked REALLY dark!)
“… remember this swap is for 6 Inchies!”
Right. The seventh (the little bird) is a hostie for you.
Or are you looking at post #25? I was discussing my inchie experiences in response to Jen’s question. Those were just examples of my previously made inchies. She’s seen them, so I’ll delete them, in case they created confusion.
“Are those mostly Red and Green with some black and White?”
Aren’t they? They (the crabs) certainly were intended to be. If you don’t feel that is the case, you will have to send them back to me, they are already in the mail…
