I've been thinking on things that we can do again, to spice up our trading. So far, we got February covered for our annual Valentine postcard swap. That swap, for those of you who don't know, runs just like the Halloween swap we did last month. However, I was thinking of maybe a January thing. Just thinking for now...it's kind of a busy time for me this month and next. (Which I think is everybody!) LOL!

Here's my idea...and we can use it sometime after February if the majority of us just can't do it. I was thinking of something that I was think of calling a "profile" card. Sorta like a baseball card. It has your picture a few interesting facts about yourself and this cards would be arted up. (Maybe even greeting card style....you know like a folded card) That way you would have 4 areas to fill up.

So, for your pic it can be anything that is you. Maybe you wanna show a pic of the age you sorta feel like you are now. Maybe you show 10 year old you or 60 year old you...it's up to you. Then you can add any info you like...Nicknames you have and why you have it...an embarrassing moment...something exciting you've done in your life...a celebrity you met...I've been doing a lot of Ancestry.com stuff...perhaps if you have done the same, add a fact you found out.

We could even have everyone post questions they would like answered. I'll compile them and everyone just choose the ones they want to add in there project.

I would like it to run like a postcards swap...so that means multiples. I would except printed answers to questions and of course pic...but the rest would have to be arted.

Again, this is just me thinking crazy...lol...let me know what you think. ...And please...be brutally honest. I would not wanna drag anyone into a swap that is too much headache. I also would like to hear suggestions and ideas for other swaps. Even if I don't use some of these ideas for this swap...it might lead to something that I could use down the line some where. So, feel free to brainstorm openly here. I'd like to organize something fun four all.

Mel, that's a really great idea, and something I'd be interested in. It reminds me of the profile cards a number of us AFA'ers made back in the day when we attended a live meetup in 2010. It was optional, but many of the attendees created profile cards and then passed them out at the event. I'm including a couple pics of some of the cards that I still have and cherish. I will say, I liked that we only had to make ONE card, and then we made nice duplicate copies of that card to distribute, versus making many unique pieces. This swap idea might be something that other members (that don't normally play in EAU) might enjoy, too?

I opted to just add some extra gel pen sparkle to my "Elvis" themed card, so it did have a bit of handwork to it. These cards also doubled as avatars for many people for a while as well. Lots of great uses for profile cards.

Profile card sounds like fun... received QSL-cards in the past - postcards with picture on the front and info about the person behind the chat-name on the back...that would be a good option for me.

Sorry I haven't checked in for quite a while. I actually got Covid! I have my grown kid to thank for it Gah! He visited while having a "cold" Then my youngest son, hubby and I got the flu. My eldest got cold like symptoms. I really didn't think it was covid because for us it wasn't too bad. I did have a test on hand (it was a just incase thing, cause I was working at the time.) So I took it just for curiosity sake and well...you know the rest.

Anyways, feeling better now. Just in time to cook turkey I guess LOL! Hope all of you have a wonderful, safe Thanksgiving holidays. ...and if Thanksgiving isn't part of your world. Have a great day!

Happy Thanksgiving, American peeps and Happy Thursday to everyone else! Hope you're all having a wonderful day, holiday or not.
Take it easy, Mel! I have friends around here still getting Covid and our next door neighbor's 4-week old baby was transferred to university hospital yesterday with RSV. I've been going over and checking on their pets because the hospital is about 25 miles away.
I haven't had a chance to make my partner's envie yet so it will probably not make it by the end of the month.
