This will be the official thread for the
Armistice Day/Remembrance Day/Veterans Day All Types of Art a-thon!

We’re creating art beginning 12:01am Friday November 11 (earliest time zone) through 11:59pm Monday November 14 (latest time zone).

Armistice Day is commemorated every year on 11 November to mark the armistice signed between the Allies of World War I and Germany at Compiègne, France, at 5:45 am for the cessation of hostilities on the Western Front of World War I, which took effect at eleven in the morning—the "eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month" of 1918.
Armistice Day is observed by: Belgium, France, United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria and many other countries.
Canada observes it as Remembrance Day or Poppy Day
United States observes it as Veterans Day

What is an ATART?
It's an All Types of ART marathon where you can create art with fellow artists, at the same time in each time zone. This thread will become our craft room.

How it works:
Start creating art when it's time to start (the earliest time zone where it’s November 11), then upload your lovely creations to your Athon Gallery and post them to the thread. Trading and chatting are going on all the time as people are awake in different time zones.

While trading happens with frequency at a-thons, it is not a requirement to post art for trade. We love seeing whatever you’re working on!

How to ask for a trade:
When you see a piece of art you would like to trade for, please SEND A PERSONAL MESSAGE (PM) to that person asking for a trade. Please DO NOT post requests for trades to the thread - it can get way too confusing and may be missed in all the chatter.

NOTE: when you do make a trade, please be sure to send it to your trade partner within 2 weeks. If you're running late, communicate!

If you wish to compliment an artist - and you will - remember you can click the You Rock button and leave your compliment/comment there.

HOW TO POST YOUR ART TO THE THREAD
From your atcsforall.com gallery:
It’s easiest to have two windows open.
1) Go to your gallery and open the image you want to insert.
2) Copy the row with [IMG] codes. (copy is ctrl+c and paste is ctrl+v in Windows)
3) Go to your post and paste the copied [IMG] code.
You may want to double check that the size is "small" ([IMG]http://www.atcsforall.com/forum/gallery/images/400/small/1_Oct_CH_-_leaf_print_fall.jpg[/IMG … note small is bolded and last bracket is left off for example )
5) and then you're done.

From your computer:
1. Click POST REPLY at the bottom of the messages screen. Above the message box, click the paperclip next to the smiley face. Then upload as usual. This will upload your picture as a thumbnail.
2. If you go into the Quick Reply box at the bottom of the messages screen, click GO ADVANCED and you will get the paperclip above the message box.

NEW TO Art A-Thons? If you have any questions at all, feel free to PM me or post your questions to the thread. We have a lot of experienced art-a-thoners who are more than willing to help those of you new to this craziness.

Optional Challenges:
*Use nature in your artwork somehow - i.e. leaf printing, making your own dyes, using a pressed plant…
* Make different sized art than you usually create - inches (1 x 1 inch), twinchies (2 x 2 inch), moo cards (1 x 2-3/4 inches), ATCoins (2-1/2 inch circle), 4 x 4 inch light or chunky pages… and so forth.
