Okay, the swap for the next region has been posted. Sorry, I don't know how to do the linky stuff. The next region is Asia...

My animal went in the mail on Friday. I thought that I had mentioned it in the thread but obviously not

DID YOU KNOW? Koalas have finger prints, just like the great apes and humans?
Emus will take on (fight) full grown kangaroos and will often win.
A wombat's defence is all in its bottom - they have a bony plate covering most of their rear and, when attacked, will retreat to their burrow. They will block the entrance with their bottoms and, if the predator is silly enough to stick its head in, they can crush the predator's skull between the top of the burrow and their rear.

    here are my cards:
Attachment 239814the larger size allowed me to use 2 strands of variegated thread which I tweeded- giving a much more realistic colour to the emu
Attachment 239815 Attachment 239816a baby koala is also called a joey
Attachment 239817emu chicks are normally striped grey/white/brown so that they can hide in the grasses but that is very hard to achieve with sewing thread.

So was anyone doing the Victoria Crowned Pigeon? I am kind of intrigued by that one now that I have some time to sit & work on this swap.

The Victoria crowned pigeon is native to New Guinea, not Australia. It would be perfect for your new swap of Asia.

For my cards - I can take sewing cards like that with me when we fly as the needle is too small to show up in Security. I do have to remember to take my thread cutter rather than scissors - I've lost a few pairs of good scissors that way. On our latest holiday we had a total of 6 hours actual flying plus waiting in the airports so I managed most of 3 of the cards during that time.

Mine are done, but I won’t have a scanner until Monday, so I’ll mail Tuesday and they should arrive in time.

Koala.jpgSpottedTigerQuoll.jpgSugarGlider.jpgHere are mine: a koala, a spotted tiger quoll and a sugar glider. Fun fact: The sugar glider has flaps of skin to help it glide from limb to limb in a tree! These will leave here tomorrow 6/12.

The quoll is also known as a "native cat" in Australia. Weird, right?
