What a Gesture! Hand PAT!


Welcome to the Hand PAT! "What does that mean?" You might ask... well, it means ya get to revisit that childhood pastime of tracing your hand, then turn it into some awesome art!

This is a PAT type swap, which is a HUGE commitment. Once you sign up & pick a theme there is no backing out. Please read the PAT section in the FAQs & be completely certain you are ready and willing to commit if you have never played in a PAT here at AFA before. Also, keep in mind the only dumb question is one left unasked.

IMPORTANT! READ EVERYTHING!
To play all artists must have:
*an established iTrader of +15
*No negatives within the last 6 months
*No neutrals for lack of cards/communication in the last 3 months
These are AFA's rules and there will be No Exceptions!

General info:
1. Pick a group, then pick a theme.
2. Doing your best work...Make a Hand for each person in your group both in the shape of that groups' hand gesture & each person's selected theme.
3. All hands should be backed and sturdy (not just thin paper).
4. All hands should have your username, group number, & the player who it is intended for at the bare minimum on the back.
5. Backs should be decorative in some way, even if its just pretty paper. No plain backs, please.
6. You may sign up for 1 or 2 groups only, but PLEASE do not over extend yourself. Once you sign up & choose your theme, there is no withdrawing.
7. ALL Hands muct be in my hands ON or BEFORE August 6th, 2012. Failure to do so will result in negative iTraders.
8. Hands are alot of work and host cards are in no way expected.

Mailing Info:
*PM me for my address when your work is ready to mail.
*ALL PLAYERS, US & International: *Please put each hand in some sort of protective covering. All hands are different sizes, but I know mine fit in cheap sandwich sized baggies.

*Please mail your hands in a medium sized manila envelope (as noted above, everyone's hands will be different sizes, so lets plan ahead for that fact!). Also, if Manila envelopes are not available in your area, please just ship them in a well protected envelope. I plan to recycle envies fir returns, but can provide them where needed.

*Enclose a large address label with your name & address clearly printed & the amount of US $ it took you to send to me. If anyone would prefer to use PayPal pm me for that info.

When the swap is finished, remember to leave iTrader for each player in your group & for your Hostess!

Q: Do groups 7 & 8 have to be shaped like their example?

A: Nope. Groups 7 & 8 are marked Artist's choice, as in you can make them in whatever hand gesture you'd like, as long as they are illustrated with your group mates' themes. The other 6 groups have specific shapes (I've given an example for each).

And if there's no interest in certain shapes/gestures, we can take a vote & change them. I'm open to whatever makes peeps happy.

Ribbon garlands with little wooden clothes pins... that's how i have done it... I am throwing my hat into the ring with Hang ten, group two... they are going to be up on the wall for back to school, next fall, in my art room.... Theme is... what the Art Lady looks like... I am so honored to have the example, on the wall at school already, (just about to come home for the summer, finally!) that I want more to inspire the kiddos! The ones that are up already, from swaps and the pif hand thread already have students adding their own to the mix, so I would like to continue that!
