WE ARE FULL, BUT HAPPILY ACCEPTING FUTURE TENANTS ON THE WAIT LIST!
In this swap, we're going to build a neighborhood of beautiful mixed-media houses...one wall at a time!
Using the provided template, each artist will create four mixed-media walls (two peaked, two rectangled). They can be a colorful mixture of collage, hand-drawings, paint, found text and everything in between. Nanner will swap the walls so each artist receives a full-house worth of art! Each artist will make their OWN ROOF. Once assembled together, each player will have their very own unique, gorgeous art home!
Special thanks go out to our lovely San Diego AFA'ers for inspiring this swap (see their lovely examples below.) Also thanks to Debbie Crane and clothpaperscissors.com for providing the template and brilliance!
Simple Rules to Swap Success:
1.
4 mixed-media walls. Use the template to ensure the correct size, send in
2 peaked walls (one with a door) and 2 rectangle walls. These must be original creations of artwork. Each artist will receive back 4 different walls from 4 different artists. Each artist will make THEIR OWN ROOF. Everyone please make a front door on one of the peaked panels. Don't cut it out, though. We'll leave any cutting, roof and assembly to each artist's returns.
Reference: House SIDE should be about 4" h x 5" w. House PEAK should be about 6" h x 4"w.
2.
COLORFUL. We're building a neighborhood of color here! Keep it lively. Imagine this being a showpiece on display in our studios! Some chunkiness is okay, but keep it clear of the edges. Make it mostly paper. Some folks may want to "stitch" the sides together (sample below), so we want the assembly process to be easy peasy.
3.
Sturdy Walls. Use 90-lb-minimum paper, chipboard, or cardboard as sturdy as a cereal box as your base. Flimsy artwork that doesn't meet these basic requirements will be returned. I figure we are all prolly gonna have to be a little go-with-the-flow on this. Might need to do a bit of trimming or such to make all the walls work as we each use our own printers and alter away. But boy will they be STUNNING when we're done!
4.
Quality in is quality out, so please put only your best work forward.
5. This is ART, so please remember to
sign your work. Include your username on the back of each wall.
6.
Send each wall in its own protective baggie.
7.
Postage--Bubble Envelope--LARGE Addy Label. Please send your walls in a bubble envelope (I will re-use this envie to mail your returns.) Include a LARGE ADDRESS LABEL. And $2 or $3-ish for postage. International players, PM for my paypal account. If you don't do Paypal, send a message and we can figure something out, we'd still love for you to play.
8.
Show and tell: Please upload piccys of your walls for everyone to "neighborhood watch!" That’s one of the best parts!
Players, please, please, please - when you receive your walls for the swap, remember to leave Rep Points (You Rock button) for the people you received walls from and iTrader for the Host (me.)
Hostess gift is not required, but I sure do dig them (if you want to make an extra PEAKED wall, I'll bind them into a little chunky journal in honor of this beautiful swap.) Extra loose postage is always welcomed. Players who move away in the middle of the night (no communication) will receive a faerie-style knuckle sandwich, eviction notice, and a neutral iTrader rating.
Please to enjoy this gorgeous community! Awesome examples from Rapa x 2, the bonster monster that is Pochadiva x 2, and two lovely samples from Helene (and a sweet kittybaby!)
